I just picked this winder up from the manufacturer (Luxupak). Its cheap, quiet, Japanese Motor, and 2 Year warranty. I still recommend Orbita but I liked this and thought I'd take the plunge: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have two spots open (bottom right is a crappy quartz). I think a Rolex Submariner in SS for the automatic. I am looking for a vintage GUB Glashutte cal 70.1 that was the inspiration for the Senator Sixties. I also want a Minerva cal 49. I spent my watch money for the year so I am just window shopping.
I am guessing you did not get a comparable Orbita due to cost. Is it safe to say that an Orbita this size would cost about twice as much? Best Regards, Thomas Carey
A comparable Orbita would have been around $1900 (Monaco 3). They are much nicer, no question, but 4x the price. -dsd
Keep an eye out for Orbita... I just got a memo from Orbita (last week) about some new winders coming out, still made in the USA and priced right where they should be
Well If they really are they will do a very brisk business. Any idea on what they might sell for? Best Regards, Thomas Carey
I had to bump this up. My luxupak winder took a crap today. One winder spins constantly and the other 2 don't work at all. I contacted the vendor today. I will keep you guys posted as to how they handle the warrenty claim.
I got a $50 winder off of eBay. Not bad looking for the money -- but rather noisy motors. I'd like to step up to a better quality winder at some point, but don't want to spend "silly" money for an Orbita. How quiet is the Luxupack in operation ?
I bought one of the wolf designs single winders from chris and the newest version is dead quiet. I highly recommend it!
