I have an early Quatroport - Double headlight, so MAYBE a 1966??? - Can anyone help me clear up what I have??? Numbers on the tag are: AM 107 2268 What engine do I have? Yes, I KNOW it is a 4-cam V-8 with four Webers... What numbers on the engine will tell me what displacement this one is? There were two engine sizes.... Thanks!
Where are our Quattroporte experts? From what I could find, the last Quattroporte had serial number AM107 2498, in 1969. As late as April 1968, when Road & Track printed their road test of the Quattroporte, they said: "The engine is a 90 degree V-8.....displacing 4136cc. There is a 4.7 liter version too, but strangely enough it isn't exported from Italy." I'm afraid I don't know if there is a way to externally identify the 4.7 engine. Someone will know. If your car has a leaf-spring, live axle rear suspension, it's a Series 2. If it has the de Dion independant rear, it's a Series 1. I believe the change happened in 1965. I'd like to hear more about your car! Pictures?
Doesn't this seem strange? New guy registers two weeks ago, logs on, asks a question, and hasn't logged on since.....
Hi: Simplest way to id 4.2 is that the trans shift pattern has reverse to the right and back (like Alfa) Z.F. S5 20 trans. The 4.7 had the pattern with the reverse left and up. Z.F. S5 325/27 trans. Regards Ian.
Okej but are this the only way to se that it is a 4,2 or a 4,7? In later years every other Maserati you could se that on the Chassies number. We have at least one 4,7 liter in Sweden AM107/2304.I have seen it.
Hi I have seen your contribution only now. Usually, 4.7 litres have 107.47.xxxx, but there are also cars with 107.xxxx/47. And some 4.7 have just the normal chassis numbers: 107.xxxx You will see more information on www.tipo107.com It would be great if you could provide us with a photo of your car, chassis-number plate etc.
It would be great to have more information about 107.2498 for my registry www.tipo107.com Have you got any additional information, cars which are not listed yet? Woudl appreciate greatly!
