It would be great to see the Concorso Italiano to be re-located this year at either Poppy Hills, Cypress Point, or Spanish Bay Golf Courses. Any place other than Marina airport!

    Just my 2 Cents

No real update or anything, pretty much the same stuff...but I emailed Concorso about where the location of the '08 event will be and they replied:

    "Mr. Zuk,

As you may already know, Bayonet Blackhorse Golf Course is currently undergoing major hotel construction and a complete transformation of their fairways. You probably remember the bulldozers of last year. Since this would definitely inconvenience our Corporations and Guests, we have chosen to move our Event to another site for the 2008 year and beyond. We will be broadcasting our new location shortly, so keep checking your 'inbox' for the big announcement!

Thank you for your patronage and loyalty,

Samantha at CI has INSISTED that their big announcement would be this week, so I guess that gives them until today or tomorrow, depending upon your definition of week.

If the Coastal Commission is involved, be assured the fiesta at Concorso Los Banos certainly has a good "ring" to it!

    Chris, Los Banos?

    Talk about overheated F-cars.

Is there some sort of car expo at Los Banos now?

No, just a really bad case of sarcasm and no faith in the Coastal Commission! Therefore, long live Concorso Los Banos!!

This represents the way the events were run the past few years. Very little information or presence the day of the events. I will say it again Frank M. did a great job and had a passion that could be seen and felt at all of the shows he was involved with. This is only the worlds largest Italian car event during the most prestigious weekend for car lovers.

Oh Well! Another week of disapointment. I guess we all need more patience. When they do tell us where, B1tch like h*ll and get your entry for the $75.00 price.

Nah, vote with your money and fee and go to the Quail (sold out though) or Laguna Seca instead. Heck, just hang out downtown or go to the beach for the day.

If you reward people, or Companies, for mediocre or poor performance (in the case, by giving them your business) don't be surprised if that is what you get. Pavlov's (spelling?) dog or something like that applies to Humans as well.

I'm actually going with a fellow F-Chatter, and he has already paid for the entry. Either way, If I would have had to pay, I would have done so in the beginning and waited for the Location Announcement just so I didn't have to spend the Extra amount of money. Now if it really is at the Marina Airport, I think everyone who still wants to enter their car should be sure to get it at the $75.00 price no matter when they decide to pay for it. That should be what the reward of waiting for their (Concorso) decision should be.

I would at least come out for the HISTORICS!

What do you mean exactly by "official"? Can you please provide a source? I have not yet seen any source indicating where the event is to be held. Indeed, the concorso.com "area information" web page has a link with directions to Black Horse, although nowhere on their site could I find any text indicating the event would actually be held there, or anywhere else... just no location information at all.

No offense toward you intended - I suspect you may be right, actually, but I would like to know definitively where the event is scheduled to be held just so I don't go there accidentally. :)

This should be interesting. Hopefully the promoter will take care of the clubs and owners of the cars. I am sure the delta between renting the Golf Course and the airport is quite large and they won't try to charge full price for everything.............................

At this point, the location of the event is completely irrelevant. The way the whole matter has been handled is what has determined my decision not to go. Surely the organizers were aware of the abundance of rumors and misinformation out there caused by their lack of putting out anything concrete, and for months they allowed this to continue without issuing any real information (and depending on whom one spoke with, they were even putting out misinformation on their own, according to some who have posted here). I hope those who attend find it enjoyable, but I, for one, cannot bring myself to reward any organization that displays such arrogance towards their customers.
