I am flying out Thursday morning for Florida, where I will be picking up a car. I then get to drive it back across the country.

I am taking a fairly direct route from Tampa, FL to Southern California.

I really want to make sure that I hit some of the hot spots along the way. Amazing restaurants ideas? Best BBQ in the South? Hottest waitresses in the country? I want the best suggestions you guys can come up with of places I can hit along the way.

At the end of my journey I plan to have a cool photo journal to post up, should be interesting.

    Thanks a lot everyone!

I presume you will be taking I-10 across? If you like German food, there's a good one in El Paso called Gunter's Edelweiss. It's convenient, too: on the north service road at around, I believe, exit 30. (Check on Google to find out more.)

The car is for a client of mine, it is a very rare 1997 Championship White Integra Type R. It is the most rare of all the years that car was released here in the US. He is going to make it a part-time track car to go along with a few others already in his collection. He wanted to drive it back across the country, and wanted me to inspect the car before purchasing it, so I volunteered to come along. I am really excited about the whole thing, I haven't driven past Colorado.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, keep em' coming.

Definitely swing by Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and walk the natural entrance down to the main room. The best cave I've ever seen. Only slightly off the direct route. Stay for the twilight amphitheater bat release when about 250,000 bats come out of the cave at dusk.
My favorite BBQ recommendations are a little north of the I-10 area, but enjoy the trip!
    :)
