Is the early bird fee $82 refundable? Asphalt on a hot Summer day is not good for cars or spectators, IMO.

It is really too bad about this show. Over the years it has just become too big with too many non Italian cars. It is not a "celebration of Italian style" in my opinion. Because it's at an airport, are they going to serve airplane food?

where are the rest of the events that are going on that week are being held at? I bet its not at the air port, they'll proably get a better location for their cars and we're thrown in the hot sun on a dirty road with no shade in sight,I'm sure they thought about us real well,

Agree with some of your concerns, but do you expect them to put shade every mile of roadway for you? Does your convertible not have a top? No aircon? And how can they remove dust from the outdoors?

I did a Google map satellite view of the airport and it looks like there is only one entrance .. gonna be a huge crowd/backup getting in even if you are displaying or showing for judging.

And don't forget the wind.... it's all open out there which it's going to be very windy and mix temperatures on the open tarmac. Three years ago in the month of August, I took a firefighter’s vehicle operators course for two week at the Marina Airport and it was a continuous strong wind which lowered the temperatures a bit, just enough for a jacket. For sure NO shorts and tee-shirts weather. It’s going to be very interesting!

..perhaps they should have considered moving this year's event to somewhere in the wine country.

If you recall Quail only had one or two entrances. What really hoses up the traffic at Blackhorse is the stoplights and cops. Blackhorse used to stop everything at the entrance, were Frank would let the cars in, then place them. There is a lot of room at Marina and it could go smoother. As far as the weather, well that's a crap shoot. July/August in Monterey you can get a little bit of everything. It's similar to Laguna Seca.If I was running the show I would charge $50.00 throw a bunch of tri tip on the grill, chill down some beer and shake every hand that showed up.

I have been to about 5 Concorso's. I have paid my entry fee but really feel that I may not even go now. I really don't like this move. One of the attractions of the event was the beauty of the courses and the views of the bay. I don't think the airport reaches the level. Am I wrong? Really, I'm not familiar with the airport so what is the view and landscape?

They way everyone is complaining on this thread, it already is in the WHINE COUNTRY! I frankly could care less where it is at. I am just happy there is still an event.

    +1

No offense but In the early days it was an event for Italian car lovers. The three groups that started it were Maserati, Iso and Lamborghini clubs. It was about enjoying the cars, and we didn't worry about weather, dirt, sun, food, views parking...............................................

They must be cammo .. I looked at the satellite view on Google and didn't see anything but what is shown on the above posted map. Looked like some dirt roads in the area .. maybe a visit is in order before August.

I hope it does. I go to Concorso to see all ITALIAN STYLE. I can see BMW's, Corvettes, Porsches & Vipers anytime.

I think the Concorso Italiano newsletter said it best: This site will give us tremendous opportunity to expand and to introduce new and exciting features. We are keeping all of the aspects that you have come to love about Concorso Italiano including the Fashion Show, the On-stage Commentary with Car Owners and Celebrities, the Wonderful Music, the Beautiful Cars, Riva yachts and of course the festive atmosphere.

This year we will also enjoy vintage aircraft and for the first time at Concorso Italiano, professionally catered Food and Beverage. We will also be adding shaded seating areas where you can relax and view the beautiful cars and the mountain backdrop of the Coastal Range.

Concorso has always had motorcyles and yachts. In 2006 there was even an Italian designed aircraft. This will be much better for those that want to see things new and changing. It will be easier to get in and out and more interesting. There is a lot to say about a company that is willing to change and a company that takes the risk to employ new features that can not be initiated on a golf course. Golf courses are cool but this is way cool and it is only a few minutes north of the other site.
