    Hello,

I'm selling a customer's 91 Testarossa for him. The buyer wants a PPI. I don't want to do it due to conflict of interest. Can anyone recommend someone who could do a PPI in central, west Jersey (Frenchtown)? Thank you in advance.

I think you're the only one, Wil. Have you asked Matty Lawrence or what's-his-name with the Elise...? One of them might know someone.

Is this the same Testarossa that was in your shop a few weeks ago...?

Oh right, I forgot about Bill.

If you mean, is that the same TR we had in our annex downtown, the answer is yes, it's the same car.

Thanks very much for your response. It's much appreciated.

Yeah, that's the place. There were two 308s there, as well as some paintless racecar on the top lift.

The "paintless race car" is my other Italian hot-rod. Most of the mechanicals (engine, suspension, steering, brakes, final drive, etc.) are Maserati. I hope to finish it soon.

What is it exactly...? I mean, I don't mean to thread-hijack, but it looks cool.

Hey, cool picture and thanks for the compliment!

We designed and built it in-house. I call it "the Maserati" or "my Italian Hot-rod".

To over-simplify: It's basically a 1980 Maserati Quattroporte with a shortened wheel base and a hand built aluminum 2 seat sports car body. It uses mostly Maserati mechanical components (5 liter V8 engine, final drive, suspension, steering, brakes, etc). The Chrysler auto-trans was replaced with a Tremec 5 speed. The car weighs about 2,000 pounds right now and the engine will put out about 300HP. I have plans for a 450 HP motor later down the road.

I hope to finish it soon

With the engine and everything, the car weighs only a ton...? With all fluids...? That's not bad.

Thanks for the photo! I added it to our blog : http://exoticars-usa.blogspot.com/2007/12/study-in-cryonetics.html . That photo is from a year ago, judging by the Fiat Jolly sitting in the background which left our shop May '07. I am aching to see what this hand built car looks like with paint on it. It is truly shocking to watch years go by with no progress on the project. I'm sure many folks here can relate to that frustration - not enough hours in the day.
