I have a beat on a car but the last service record was done in 2005 and since that documented mile there are only 1000 miles on it. It has changed hands between 3 dealer in the last few months.

The car does have a clean carfax.

Well most of the time I only take my Ferraris to the store and back (3 miles each way) say 5 times a month. Thats 30 miles a month 360 a year. Plus the big event every two months or so. Say 75 miles so 450 a year. Also the occasional night out so another couple hundred a year. So this equals a little over a thousand and divide that into a couple Ferraris and you will get 500 a year or less. For someone that may have more Ferraris it could be a lot less.

So no, that is not low annual miles for the average Ferrari.

I wouldnt be worried unless its a car in Ohio or another state that doesnt have to report accidents to the buyer of a car. That 1000 miles that year in that case could be it sitting in a repair shop...

    Good luck.

The mileage does not bother me. bouncing among three dealers bothers me a lot.

The modern Ferraris are meant to be driven. Considering you are not even getting the condensation out of your exhaust system, you are not doing yourself any favors.

+1 on that. In this day and age of the internet, I can't imagine why one dealer would buy it from another dealer and then send it to another dealer... cleaning a title kind of thing maybe? I don't know. Just seems odd. This is the age of the GLOBAL market...you can find anything and find it fast and probably find someone to go look at it for you. It really should not matter if the car is in Portland, Maine or Portland, Oregon these days.

    YMMV!

The market is slow and dealers generally have x amount of time to move a car before they wholesale it or auction it.

I would get a PPI or fly out there and check it out just to make sure there is nothing wrong with the car.

I know he's a dealer, but I'd agree with MVP on this one. The car still obviously needs to be inspected with a solid history verification, since you can't trust Carfax, but in today's economy, it would'nt shock me if 3 different dealers bought the car because they "thought" they could sell it.
