that is definitely Chinese, but it is not current. A closeup shot of the smaller characters might help figure things out!!

That is a Chinese 500 yuan from about the 20-30's or maybe just prior to WWII, if I remember. I have some similar to this in a cobolt blue. Looking at the Characters it was issued by the Chinese central bank [BCA]. But my Mandarin is rusty.

I doubt that is Chinese 500bill. Even today, the largest bill in China is 100yuen and bigger size than that.

If you didn't catch my point...$500 is a lot of money. If that is from the 20-30's that is equal to US$one million in today's money. You think they print in that smalll bill? Honestly, I don't think that is Chinese money just by the $500.

I don't know. It will be best to search for really what that is. Rather than just translate the Chinese characters on a print note. Just because it has something saying is "China", doesn't mean it is Chinese money. That note has no date, no signatures saying it is a legal tender. People in the old days rather accept in real gold and real silver.

I think likely less than 0.001 Yuan ($500/500,000). Some history on Chinese Hyper-inflation...

I should note that the bill is torn in half so collectible value it out the window, I'm more curious to know what it is.

If you can zoom into the bottom of the 1st picture. Those tiny words on the bottom might help identify what it is.

What that is saying is issued from the Band Central of China from BaKing, or peiking as Westerners like to say.

$500 yuan was dribble in terms of US currency. I have stamps overlaid from that era, since I lived over there during the 60's, that show 5,000,000 on top of a simple .02 cent US stamp: Inflation was like in Germany after the war...HORRIBLE, you could take carts of money to buy a simple bowl of rice.

That is old money, not woth much than to a collector, but actually is more fun to buy as much as you can and replace your Monopoly money with it for a kick...
