That's funny since they said in the magazine that car had already 13t km on the odo, 1979!

eeh, not possible the car in the magazine has a normal roof, no periscope, but has the old gauges.

    I'll scan the article later.

I also remember a feature in a German magazine many years ago with a white Countach S(?) and a white Miura that had a wing and black wheels. Perhaps I am wrong - but it was also SPORT AUTO.

    Ciao!

Should not 1121030 have a periscopa roof? the pic do not show a periscopa roof.

Rallye Racing, it was the SV of Braun

The car in the magazine has definitely not a periscopa roof.

it is a very early S car, since it has SW gauges, britax belts and LP400 steering wheel
it is not 1121030 since it has no periscope roof

125,000 Dollars for a Periscopa. The photo is from an old French magazine... Can't remember which year, but it's from the late seventie's.

Could in fact be the first production S after Wolf's dark blue car. It doesnt seem to have an "S" badge, and Wolf's didnt either...

Taking the ascending export plates I thougt it could be #1121028 (since #1121026 got EE70267), perhaps it was already repainted in 1979, they mentioned that the car had already 13t km which is quite a lot...

And it used to be a nice one too. Typical of the butchery that scores of Countach have unfortunately undergone in Japan, this LP500S started life as a fabulous Blu Acapulo with special-order Tabacco interior and dark-brown carpets. I will not even post images of the way the car used to live in Northern California (Id have to dig them up anyway) as its current awful disposition is rather depressing by comparison. It used to be one of the nicest LP500S I had ever seen. It was converted to fuel-injection by Trefor Thomas & Jas Rarewalla of ACI when new so that the owner (who ordered it directly from the factory in its special livery) could road-register it in California.

    Oh well...

CLA12518? There was a acapulco blu/white LP500s for sale in switzerland which started life as a german carbed car, then converted to FI, had a phoenix title and then came to switzerland where it was for sale at Affolter for a long time. But it's said to have returned to the states.

Joe said Tobacco interior. Per registry CLA12518 had a white interior. I dont think this car has been listed anywhere. I am also not sure why the guy added bravo wheels. If he really wanted a 400S he should have bought one.

he wanted a Wolf like car and made all he could to make this car look like a Wolf's one (except the white color, he probaly like white countach more than red or blue ones)

an S1 or S2 car would have been a better car to do the trick (but at same time harder to find and more expensive than the FI 500S -and also a greater loss IMO-)

so he got black flares and spoilers, sebring mirrors, mousehair or alcantara dash, canadian flags, ecc.... gold bravo wheels do not surprise me since they were an important part of the Wolf's cars apperance and aura and the OZ dish wheels would never make the car look ....a Wolf car ;)

i know before ES began to produce the repros there was quite a demand for bravo wheels, expecially from Japan
as an example Luca Salvioli told me once he had a japan customer (could it be more than one) looking for wheels exactly like mine ...

IMPORTANT ADVISE FOR JOE : PLEASE do not read from here ! ;)
the car does not look THAT bad imo, simply it is f...ed as originality, even more a pity since it was a pretty unique and very cool color combination

if i would come across an incomplete project countach and not one of the "scarcer" cars (i would not do it to a Lp400, for example ;) ) , i could consider make it a Wolf replica, i would do my best to make it as close as possible to the real thing (more or less as Piet did with his Jota replica )

and i promise i would NEVER call it what it is not: a real Wolf's car

p.s. to get a "closer" look this car needs a Wolf's wing and an ANSA exhaust
