Any exotic car cruises in Utah this year? Is there a Ferrari or exotic club that gets together?

Would anyone like to start a monthly or weekly cruise in for cars on the Wasatch front (not just exotics)? Kind of a Utah version of Crystal Cove/whatever it is called now?

There has been a group in the past. The interest hasn't been that high in recent years. However, I am not sure if people are still organizing anything all that formal. Stackhouse may be able to shed more light on the topic. Being out of state now, my info is not the most up to date.

If anyone has interest in spring and summer drives feel free to PM me. We will be putting some fun runs together as soon as the weather warms up.

I know I'm looking forward to a few SLC runs! I just wish my street would thaw out so the ice potholes would go away so I could drive mine to work again.
I have friends to visit in Salt Lake, so count me in!

Ready to go on any runs you folks assemble. Last year Miller Motorsports Park let the corvette "corral" and the Porsche "Platz" have a special parking area and a parade lap during the ALMS races. Has Steve Harris sponsored anything like this in the past?

Last year Harris was Directly involved with the Corsa Motorsports Ferrari Team.. see my article in FORZA magazine issue #85 page 12.

Not sure what they have planned this year at the races.

There was a Ferrari corral at ALMS a couple years ago if IIRC. The http://utahfoc.com website is also looking outdated, I'd be happy to help update it but I'm not sure who is in charge of things like that.

The status of the Ferrari Owners Club of Utah is that it is dead. There just wasn't enough owner participation to keep it going as a formal club. However, there were owners who were interested in doing some drives, and late last Summer we did have a 'Ferrari Breakfast Club' which did some informal meets (we ended up being part of the car show down at Thanksgiving point when we stopped by on one of our drives). We'll probably do the same this year when the weather gets nice.

I've currently got the utahfoc.com domain, but haven't been updating the site. There are a number of people who have expressed interest in maintaining it, and I'm trying to get them to fight it out to see who wins (I guess we could also flip a coin). Anyway, once that is decided we should have something a bit more current out there.

    So, stay tuned . . .

    Any word on a run?

I was at Miller Motorsports park for the club house open house and they mentioned something about doing a car show of sorts for car clubs. They open the club house parking lot as a place for car clubs to park and do a lunch at the club house. If anyone is interested in setting this up as a Saturday destination for nice cars we could do it. Maybe meet somewhere at the south end of salt lake valley in the morning, head to MMP for lunch/show and then cruise the back roads from Tooele to Lehi/I-15 and split up?

there were several F-car owners interested in hitting the track but were NOT interested in bringing cars due to previous experiences where they were forced to park in some dirt lot out in the middle of no where.

Is this show (parking) for club house members only? If so... many of the previous club house members (myself included) have not and do not intend to renew their memberships.

That said... we will be kicking off the driving season real soon with some drives and there will be a group of us coming to the track... most likely in daily drivers though.

We got royally stiffed on this last go around on bringing cars. What MMSP promised was far from being met. I think the part that was most frustrating for those who came was seeing the gold glove treatment given the other groups... plenty of empty paved parking and the getting stuck in the dirt!

I dont know something about an F-40 sitting in the dirt when a base model corvette is getting the gold glove doesn't seem right!

Yeah... that would be it... I have a pict of an F-40 sitting in the dirt! I will post it when I get home.

I guess if Larry doesn't sell 'em, then they get crap parking at his track!

I know Miller loves his Ford's. I am sure they get priority over everything.

I saw this on the Horizon when I was making my way to the track... should have taken it as a sign... of the warm welcome we were about to receive.

That picture makes me sick. If it was an F-50 I would've hurled by now.
