I have been playing this for the last couple of weeks and have enjoyed it. I was doing pretty well till my star driver was injured for 3 races! From looking on the game forum it looks like the real way to do well is to get yourself an engine factory and make your own engines and sell them to other teams rather than buying a customer engine as I am doing now. I have developed some parts on my car which are better than the parts I bought. Anyway, I find the game to be pretty absorbing and fun so I wondered if anyone here fancied joining? http://www.GPManagerPro.com/?aff=T6181

I have been playing for free, but I might go for a Pro Account so I can choose my drivers names - How does a pairing of Tazio Nuvolari and Gilles Villeneuve sound?!

    ;)

Glad you like it. You need to be careful though - it can get addictive!

You can join a club to get advise from other players. I joined a couple, but I have settled on 'Frontline Motorsports Syndicate' as it seems to have the most knowledgable and helpful members. Let me know if you join.

Just bumping this and asking if anyone from here has joined so I can look out for you.
I am just about to finish my 5th season and I've moved up the leagues quite a bit. Next season (which starts tomorrow!) I will be 'going solo' by manufacturing my own chassis and engine. I've got a decent portfolio of sponsors and I'm making £2M profit per race. I should make more next season as I won't be paying for my chassis and engine, although my race performance will probably slip. My intention is to try to sell my engines to other teams asap so I can make a bit more money. Let me know if anyone wants my engine and I'll give an Fchat discount!

    My engine stats:
    BHP: 700
    RPM: 17,125
    Weight: 108kg
    Reliability: 72%

Michael, you have enough to do with little Michael. Natalie will kill you.

But then didn't you put me in your will for the 550??

I can see that 45 people have followed my link and 5 of those created accounts. Who are you? Do you need any help? I'm now manufacturing my own engines and I'm happy to let FChat members use them for a rock-bottom price.

I might join. What is the time commintment (to realistically compete)? I played GPRO for a few months and enjoyed it, however, I just didnt have the time to remain competative.

There is a race every day and a season is 10 races long. I tend to do 100 laps of testing, 50 practice laps, and then qualifying. This takes about 5-10 minutes. If I have more time I'll check on my sponsors and look for staff and suppliers for the next season. There is a forum where you can get help etc, but I don't tend to use it much. If you are away there is a 'holiday mode' so you won't miss any races.
I have enjoyed doing this, although if I were starting again there are many things I would do differently! You can spend time on changing the look of your car etc, but I don't think I have ever spent more than 30 minutes a day on my F1 team!

My team is Scuderia Italini, still racing amongst the minnows. How much can you lease me an engine for. I'm running a Cozy mill.

I've found you! You're in the 59th division and I'm in the 15th. I am happy to let you have a decent engine for a low price, but I've just discovered that you can't buy an engine from another team until your 4th year. Drop me a line when you are ready and we'll see what you can afford - I'm willing to let you have the engine at cost - at least for the 1st season! If you want to join a club I would recommend Frontline. In the forum there is a thread called 'The Hub' which has lots of useful info I wish I'd known when I first started.

    Good Luck

Thanks Anthony, I'll be sure to come to you for the engine leases. First I just have to save up cash and get better drivers and equipment.

Don't worry too much about your drivers for the first couple of seasons. Join the 'Frontline Motorsports Syndicate' asap and look at the advice for beginners there (thread called The Hub). You'll soon be overtaking me as you'll be able to avoid the mistakes I made!

I see that you have now won a race and got 8 podiums. Congratulations! I'm working hard on improving my chassis and also paying £1.1M per race for a Ferrenzi chassis. Hopefully next season my chassis will be better than the Ferrenzi and I'll be really 'going it alone'. I'm making £5M profit per race so I can afford to let my engines go quite cheap. Just developed a new one with 860BHP and 18,525RPM.

I really, really recommend that you join the Frontline Club. You'll find some great advice there.
