Photography and collecting 1/18 BMW Motorsport models. I wish I had the money to work/modify my car, but I don't. :( I'd love to restore an old car like a first gen Camaro or 240Z.

The miniature engines are absolutely the wildest.

Love the ant farming concept and had never even knew about it.

    My hobby ; PINBALL !
Its a hobby that you can enjoy every day with the family and friends and is a great stress reliever.
Hobbyists range from DIYs with one old mechanical machine ( Pre 70s ) for $200 to those with million dollar collections. Also there are buy-fix-sellers who don't have a collection, those that only play ( believe it or not there are professional pinball players ), and some who restore them completely.
And its free ! If you buy a good machine, treat it nicely, when its time to move on you get all your money back and as a bonus most appreciate.

    Try one.

Reminds me of the "Outer Limits" episode "The Sand Kings"

"Some of man's greatest achievements have been motivated by a driving need for love and acceptance. What happens when that need for recognition, becomes a desire to be revered, and then worshipped... like a god?"

Yes, always at least two boats to race. We used identical boat / motor setups so the skill in tuning the engine and setting up the boat were key to winning. It was always fun, lots of wrecks, and close passes. It never got boring for me, but I became acutely aware of the weather as any wind over about 7 mph made chop that slowed the boats down to an unacceptable level.
The key is having a few regular racers with identical boat setups. We tried the off road nitro cars after a few years for the windy days, but they were too much maintenance. Lots of local kids used to show up to watch the races. It was a fun, relaxing and relatively inexpensive way to enjoy the weekends.

I suppose around here, one isnt allowed to be so obvious :)

saw that you are driving a 348 spider... lovely car, has the 80s soul the 355 lacks...

(there i am being obvious again)

as far as sports.. futebol (soccer to the Americans) has always been big in my family..
Man United or Ac Milano are my supported clubs. Competitive cycling sounds like a great means of keeping fit.

yeap - I'm a child of the 80's, it'll be fashionable in about 15 years I'm thinking. Every Miami Vice episode on DVD ;) Man U is my brother's team - he was about as fanatical as they come!

and you called it - can eat pretty much anything after burning through a thousand or two calories on a ride. Could even fit into an early 348 seat now I think.

You can go SCCA racing for 10k. You need to check out the SCCA club in your area. Auto cross you can do in the car you have (if sound), solo & road race needs roll bars, etc. Cars can be had for < 10k but you have to be able to maintain them.

Pics are absolutely incredible...the video link's not working, though.

My own hobbies: Ferrari automobiles, real and scale-model, writing, amateur architectural critic (retired architect who talks about how crappy everything is).

I'd like to have a Vintage 12 or early Euro 308 project car, not enough space though.

I'd have to PM you the entire Facebook conversations, as I could devote a whole thread to this... putting it here would disrupt the thread. Also, since it is politically heated (and I don't have access to the P&R section) I can't start that thread. But man, we are all pissed at each other like you wouldn't believe!!!

You're in Florida, how about deep sea fishing?

Personally, making custom wood stocks for rifles has become a favorite hobby as of lately, but I love anything gun/hunting related. There's some great hunting opportunities in Florida as well, especially for hogs. I've got a great recipe for wild boar. :D

No idea. It is only 1 of 2 ever finished and running. That type of stuff has never been tested on either one.

It has a 5/8 bore and stroke for .767CID or 12.6cc. Runs on 110 octane race fuel.
