That's very impressive.......didn't know one could build his own plane. .......did it really take you 11 years to build it?

Errr... sort of. Got it flying after 7 years, but had a zillion minor things to finish. Then decided to change the prop and gearbox and engine and ECUs and electrical system and cowling and engine mount and muffler and air intake and.... So it took a little while more to get it in the air again Then I needed to really fix the cooling. Took a couple of steamy landings plus a lot of head scratching, pressure gauges, rebuilding of wing pods and tufting to get the air flow right through the radiator pods, before finally realising my radiators were too restrictive to coolant, rather than the airflow that I was aiming at. So intall new radiators and finally get cooling right - too good actually, never above 50C. So re-install thermostat. Forget bypass line (which was taken out in my zillion experiments), blow up one radiator, another hot landing, kick myself, rebuild heads, fix radiator, install bypass line. In the mean time, I had to take the gearbox apart 4 times already because of ****ty design of oil seal. Plus I am on my 4th exhaust design (after having blown up one muffler) All is well now. 12 years after starting. Now I only need to install that auto pilot, fix the transponder and kick myself for accepting to offer my plane as a testbed for yet another gearbox design. So this fall, I will take the gearbox off, install new gearbox, prop, redo engine mount (engine will sit higher), redo cowling, redo air intake, fabricate exhaust system number 5, modify instrument panel and probably another zillion things that I don't want to think of now. Oh, did I mention that in the mean time, I've also built this plane for a friend of mine: (later model of mine, also Subaru engine). Sigh... kind of keeps a man busy.... Thanks Tarek, I picked it up last November from 'Fantasy Junction" in San Francisco. It's little jewel, show quality but not concourse since I drive my cars.........hey, Tarek try E-Bay for the Ferrari flags, watch out though, I bought a couple flags for 'Ferrari Day' last May and they were of a pretty thin material. I was at Monte Carlo a few years ago for the race and was lucky enough to spend some time trackside on one of the vessels moored there.........what a treat. If you get there this year you've got to share some pics with us..........safe sailing my friend. Thanks, it's a great little cruiser........might even drive it over to C&C in a few weeks when I head back to LA. Thanks very much, you're right, this paint is like butter and silky smooth. Thanks Rebel! Awesome!, we have twins!.....almost.......your Super 90 is so sweet.........Ya gotta love it!!!!!! Thanks Hans, Amazing aircraft, 11 years? your patience is to be admired as well as the attention to detail and craftsmanship, it's outstanding and what fun.

Did you notice the "S" curve coming up to his house? I wounder how many times he has slid around that coming home?
I love this thread! I wish I had some toys of my own to contribute but sadly too young and broke. College student, what can ya do but dream? That is an amazing boat Tarek, if I ever had the opportunity to own something like that I wouldn't know what to do with myself.
My driveway is 4/10 mile long. I have a video of me going 0-100 back to zero in the driveway. Its mainly a straight a way' but still lots of fun

Thanks Dennis.......I'll try E-bay, although I never bought anything off E-bay before. Definitely, I'll post pictures of the Monte Carlo race . Take care Dennis.
.......Patience is really one of your virtues......I am very impressed. Well, I don't want to keep you busy for the next 11 years, but if you consider building another plane, now that you master it, you can build one for me .
