well, i have had seat time in racing karts and i have a thorough understanding of the way cars handle.
late and hard braking will not allow you a fluid driving style, that will enable you to carry speed through the bend.
it's not about braking late and accelerating early...it's about not upsetting the car's balance.

the scud should have proved to be a lot faster even in the hands of a beginner but it simply isn't and that's whats clearly shown in this video..

Oh come on.......be serious........we don't know who's driving these cars and this video really proves nothing. Let's only be patient and judge once there is an official test of both cars with qualified professional drivers of the same standards.

you certainly have a point.....and I too dislike the spoiler on the GT2....but hey, thats the way it comes and I love it for what it is.
OTOH if any marque carries a stigma that I could never identify with then its an Fcar. I'd rather drive a souped up beetle and blend in than to drive a ferrari to stand out.

but that's simply a matter of personal taste and to each his own.

    a lambo, now that's something !

Please see my first post... You simply do not like Ferrari. Why post on a Ferrari site?

Yes, you have a thorough understanding - if you brake late AND take the proper line (proper line IS THE most important aspect in my experience), you can apply the power out of the corner at a much higher speed in a more linear and fluid fashion. Not done here

I'm sorry........that's not fast enough. A 300 Win. Mag. bullet travels at abt. 3000ft/sec.........that's 2057mph.......it'll catch up with you in no time. You won't be able to get away ;).

    +1

assuming she/he is a capable driver, not being able to put the power down and maintaining a fluid line, could also be the result of some imbalace of the car. camber/toe, shocks or tires etc. can all lead to being off the perfect line.

but this is a scuderia and therefore we have to assume that it is setup correctly.
kindly also note, that the GT3 driver is also fighting the wheel and went off the line even further than the scud. nevertheless, the scud even when accelerating from a better exit line was not able to pull away the way i would have thought it should......

which brings me to the (mainly misunderstood) essence of my post: amazed as to how well the GT3 was able to keep up with the scud despite its power and technology handicap.

oh, and it's engine is where no engine belongs..... :D

This seems a bit disingenuous. Most people don't go out of their way to pee in someone else's yard and if they do, they're trying to make a point. What's yours?

As far as P vs F, I think it's stupid because 90+% of the driver/owners couldn't extract the true performance out of the cars anyway, so arbitrary videos with unidentified drivers of unknown skill levels under unknown conditions with unknown session goals prove nothing. If you put me in my RS vs a good driver at the helm of my 430, they would easily beat me and then swap cars and do it again.

but why haven't they simply spoken the truth then......?
truth being that the GT3 was holding on exceptionally well.....nothing more and nothing less....

but what was an enjoyable 8 minute video has been turned into a matter of personal accusations and stigmata.

just had another thought for you guys... think of how many porsche owners "upgraded" to a ferrari, and how many sold their ferrari to buy a porsche... I can on the spot think of a dozen who "upgraded", and NONE the other way around! that OUGHT to tell you something!!!

and by the way, for the post that said "I'd rather be driving a beetle and blending in than a ferrari and standing", well, buddy, let me bring you up to speed, YOU ARE DRIVING A BEETLE... your brand has a product range matching toyota, and God save you when they release the four door panamera and maybe a baby cayenne!

you sure paid a hell of a lot of money to blend in... hahahahaha
