    While I'm replacing my front spoiler, I'm finding all kinds of things to take apart and check! This time it's the horn compressor. The top cap O ring was hard as a cast iron piston ring! It was probably loosing pressure through the sides. The rest looked pretty good so I cleaned and painted things up, prelubed it and bolted it all back in.

    NICE work! I should've done this when I had my front end apart....next time, though I do think that I"m going to powdercoat my horns... :)

    Thanks Jim. I'll be posting my finished Euro spoiler installation by this weekend too.

    By the way, I got that Harbor Freight 6 ton press ($40) like you recommended and I still need to do my A arm bushings like you just did (remember we did the eBay buy together).

    Your finished product came out awesome!

    Thanks for the compliment! I am still extremely satisfied with the suspension project! It took longer than I wanted (by a week) and required more patience than I thought I had, but it was well worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    That little press paid for itself immediately!!!

    Interestingly enough the same horn compressor was fitted to the Fiat 127 Sport so is probably not as rare as it could be... (www.fiat127.com)

    Having said that Fiat 127 Sports are probably rarer then 308's now :)

    Nice work.

    It looks like you've got some excess hose length in the black and red sections. You might consider shortening them to where they're just a wee bit "too long." The shorter distance for the air to travel will speed up the response of the horn from the time you push the horn button. You might also get a little bit louder horn as there will be less pressure loss along a shorter distance. These differences might be super small.... I don't really know, but it would be a change in the right direction in any event (meaning it could not do any harm and might improve things).
