Yes, this is a take-off of the HBO show with Bill Maher, but after watching the press conference last week from Spain, and those of the prior events, I think it warrants that the F1 hierarchy impose new rules, especially for press conferences. I counted that between Kimi, Felipe, and Lewis, a minimum of 8 facial picks, and I did not start counting until after it was so noticible that it got really irritating. Next press conference, just watch.

So if anyone else thnks of some "new rules" to suggest, add them to this thread.

My proposed new rule for press conferences:

No F1 driver in the post race press interviews will be alowed pick at their ears, eyes, or nose, during the interview. Severe fines of $1 billion per incident will be imposed and the driver will be required to wear their racing gloves during subsequent interviews for the next 6 podium finishes.

Rule #2 The word Umm can not be used more that 2 times per sentence, It had to be the favorite word of Juan Pablo Montoya. Kimi loves that word also.

I think face picking should be allowed but only if another driver does the picking. Also the voice of Kimi Raiikonen should be dubbed by Robin Williams all the time.....:)

The face picking is annoying, but if I had to speak in Finnish, I would say a lot of umms too!

New Rule: If you're going to design a new race circuit, you will be required to watch an entire weekend of racing from the grandstands. So make sure the plans are about more than the Paddock Club.

The drivers should be allowed to bring the champagne from the podium into the interview room, we'd certainly get much more entertaining answers out of Kimi.

The following overused cliches will be BLEEPED from the post race conference. Of course, it won't be much of an interview but...

Everyone on the team did a great job.

Yes, I'm very happy with second place.

    The track was very dirty.

The tires were OK but on my second set I had a vibration.

This was the best we thought we could do.

We have to try harder and do more development on the car.

No, the rain was not a factor.

No, the Safety car was not a factor.

We were carrying a little more fuel than--------- (fill in another team or driver)

So, to avoid these cliches, I like the idea of having someone else in the field join the post race conference with the top 3 drivers. Someone who did something remarkable (like make up 12 places in the race) or make a fantastic pass. This way, some of the lesser teams can get some PR in front of the cameras. It's like interviewing the guy who hit the key home run even though he went hitless the rest of the day and made 3 errors. It would be interesting to get their perspective as a backmarker. And, remarkably..... some enthusiasm might actually be shown!

New Rule: Bernie gets fined $1,000,000 each time a driver or team principal uses the phrase "For sure" at the beginning of a sentence.

I think english is not only the language of the English, but F-1 as well... please use it!

You guys are hilarious. I love these ideas.

But I still do not like the ear, nose and eye picking. Its like I want to slap them on the hand and put them in the corner for time out.
