At the car wash? http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/car-buffs-victory-may-see-state-lose-vplates/2008/03/15/1205472164085.html
I'd rather put that towards the F40 If only they were $300k, I think it would be worth more????? I'd buy the new plates. These guys are just like the Taxi guys, they want to protect their investment. Go for it VicRoads I say. At the end of the day they still do have the original first plates and I think that's what VicRoads will say. NO differnet to buying a car then a new model comes out. There will always be a market for them, meanwhile give the average Joe a chance I say.
Well thats why I put the + in. I think all the 2 digits are pretty much $300K at least but would obviously vary depending on the number (teens and "special" numbers presumably being worth more) so could be quite a range. All just hypothetical anyway unless you find someone needing/wanting to sell and I don't think many owners of single/double digits are in that position. I'd only consider V plates at a really low relative price. I like 360C's quote about all plates apart from single/double/triple digits being a form of "voluntary taxation" - I think there's something in that!
i wonder what's single Letter plates worth? Some of the plates are not on cars, does that mean you can request for it to be auctioned after a certain amount of years after it hasn't been registered?
You can have plate you want in the NT for $50 - unfortunately useless outside of the NT (and yes they do police the whereabouts of the plates).
I just listed these for sale: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MOMMY-Number-Plates-Victoria_W0QQitemZ270235360928QQihZ017QQcategoryZ128288QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Some are worth it. EXTC1 sold for $20k last month. I wonder what my EXTSY is worth then. This is perfect for someone that doesn't know what else to buy their wife By the way, M0MM1 sold in the uk last year for 20,000GBP
