Honestly im a vendor. Here is my story. I have a Porsche rsr gt3 (996) I called to set up an account with them because they have some nice stuff for porsche which i dyno alot of here. i called them and spoke to jeremy. I told them about my shop and i wanted to set up as a dealer for them. he asked if we do advertising ,,,ect etc. I told them yes, and i was actually finishing up my porsche for a european car magazine article. He said "oh really". Well we neeed to get you into fabspeed exhaust for that article. I told them i had custom built an exhaust for the car here at my shop already and some custom headers as well. I told them i could use some cat bypass pipes and i would gladly pay for them. They said great! I gave him my credi card number and they said i would have them by the end of the week. I waited till the end of the week and noticed my debt card wasnt ran yet . i called them and they said they were just really busy. i was like "to busy to send product to a vendor whos car is going into a magazine and PAID for your equipment. this goes on for 2 weeks. excuse after excuse. so i told them to piss off, i will never sell there product or refer anyone to it as well. Oh, and i cancelled my order and went with supersprint instead. Our shop has been in buisness 13yrs and we have never had a vendor not give a damn like they have.

Wow, that is kind of disheartening to hear.
I must admit I have sent Fabspeed no less than 6 emails during the 'group buy' and post group buy period and for some reason no one would bother to respond to me...........I thought it was just me they were ignoring.

I did finally get a response after I sent a followup email about their lack of communicaton but they would not give me a discount like the other FChat members received, nor would they give me the free shipping as well.

As a result I did not buy one of their 355 headers (at least so far).

I hate to hear all of this but I will admit I had my best service when I contacted Fabspeed by phone and spoke to Jay the vice president. I ended up purchasing a set of headers and high flow cats. The final thing I would tell others is Fabspeed is selling on ebay under a different id I forgot what but it has the same Fabspeed phone number so you can tell it is them. I found fabspeed headers there at a reduced price from the website!!! Jay told me they were trying out ebay and seemed more than happy to give me a good price. I haven't had them installed yet but hope to soon. They look great thats for sure. My advise is give Jay a direct call I bet you will be a lot happier than waiting for an employee to respond to your emails.

I live a few blocks away and I can personally tell you that their product quality is AMZING! As is the order and cleanliness in which the shop is kept. I was just in the other day and it is looking amazing as usual. I have seen most of their stuff up close, and I can tell you if you buy, you will not be disappointed.

Yeah, when a company sells direct to the public AND tries to set up dealers, AND uses EBAY to sell there products AND blows paying DEALERS off and makes up bull**** excuses why they cant take my money saying they are to busy. I talked to everyone at that place and they just passed the torch. sorry. they didnt even care or apologize. they can kiss it. I have never been that upset with a dealer.

Why do you ask?, the tips on my car look terrible, and I think the airbox covers add alot to the look of the engine.

It is very strange that their headers on ebay didnt even pass the $1400 mark and didnt sell because the reserve was higher. Ebay is a good gauge to go by for what something is worth. I wonder why they were not bid up much. Do people out there know something we dont? They seem like a good product.

Ebay is a magnet for cheapskates.
New specialty parts never sell for what they are worth, but crap goes for more than it is worth.

I enquired a week or so ago (I am a "dealer") as to the availability of an exhaust for a 996. the girl slipped when she said they were not on the shelf but "we should get a shipment in next week". I said, "do you not make them there?" She, "oh! oh yes of course that's what I meant".

I wonder if the production is in-house after that? What else is not as shown in the glossy brochure?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with parts being made in China.... as long as the quality is there and of course he isn't representing them as being made "in-house".

I would question anything coming from China for example, do they build to the same tolerances?

Yes, there is. Especially on parts with rediculously high prices.

I have coined the term "The Eisenhaus Principle"

I think many people would be amazed at how many "European" products are made in China, Korea or Taiwan.

Which is why I said as long as the quality is there.

Because OEM Ferrari parts are aren't.....

Guys, all I was trying to say is you can get a quality part from anywhere on the globe. And of course you can get not so good parts. If the quality control at the place that makes the parts is up to snuff and the guys that are buying those parts has a level of quality to meet then it shouldn't matter where the part came from. When the person importing those parts doesn't have a level of quality to meet and is simply looking for the best price then the whole premise falls apart.

If all things were equal I'd much rather be spending my money on made in the USA parts, but as far as I know that's not an option at least when it cones to exhaust systems for our cars. So we have to buy abroad.

Evan Help put this to rest!!!!! Since you live so close would you verify that the exhaust systems are made in house at FABSPEED!! I would appreciate someone who knows for a fact if the company is manufacturing!!!! That way any comments that are made out of opinions or speculation will not harm a companies reputation withoutproof.

I don't care where they are made, just tell us.

B&B are all done in-house, they quote a date for manufacture when I order and it arrives 3-4 days after that.

I assume you are directing this statement to me since you quoted me but I honestly don't know what you are asking. I don't know what B&B is either. Can you clarify? I am just asking for someone who is in a position to have seen the companies facilities to let us all know the truth nothing more. I have no complaints about the products I purchased and hate to see speculation hurt a companies reputation.

So very very true. You should see some of the aftermarket junk for Porsche and Ferrari coming out of Germany. If anyone remembers, the counterfeit cam tensioner bearings of an earlier thread were not coming out of the East, near or far. Then there is always the OEM stuff from Italy. 355 interior parts anyone? Still made the same way as they were 10 years ago.

I can tell you right now that no part made in China will be going on my 355. I have seen many of the parts made in China and its crap. If these headers are made in China then there will most likey be problems. I know a guy who gets his 2 post lifts made in China now because he can make a 2 post hoist there for less than 150 bucks. If and I say IF these headers are made in China then the cost to make them is less than $50. plus shipping which is cheap in bulk. Almost anything made in China is made by taking short cuts. Things that are made in Europe are made to top specs and they only screw up because of design flaws.

I spoke to Jay VP of FABSPEED today and he explained that:
    1. No their products are not from China
    2. They do have parts manufactured outside their primary location but those locations are still in the U.S.
    3. People who speculate without proof can seriously harm a companies reputation.
    4. They have a large building but the company has grown beyond the capacity to manufacture all their parts at the one location and that is why they have additional manufacturing elsewhere, But again in the US not CHINA.

I don't know if this will be enough for some on here but I am more than satisfied and would not hesitate to purchase again. Thanks FABSPEED!!!!
