I just dropped my 328 off at Central Florida Maserati/Ferrari for a full diagnostic of my car. They told me that I am due for a major and it's going to be $7,700. Seems a bit high to me. I passed on it and they are replacing all my fluids for $1200, and repairing a water and oil leak for $2,300. These prices seem a little higher then what I've heard from others. Just wondering where everybody is getting their service done and if there is some reputable service shop in Central Florida or Tampa area. Thanks in advance.

China has taken all the Ferrari techs....
Oh, I know, it is the weak dollar.....
    No, no, it's Duane's fault....
Seriously, it does seem kind of high, but without the details I cannot really say.

Wow that seems really, really high. I would urge you to shop around, I got a fluid service last year for around $200. Majors run about $4k in South FL. You could put that car on a flatbed both ways and still save thousands over those prices.....

For these quoted prices, it would be worth shipping to Ft Lauderdale and let Tim Stanford do the work.

In the Tampa Bay area you can contact Frank Maderi in Clearwater at 727-735-7092, E-mail [email protected] or Massimo Modino at The Auto Legend in Oldsmar. Frank has an SD-2 for newer cars.

Looked at car in that area and the owner highly reccomended these guys. Guy had a belt service from 2001 with a bunch of 'while were in there' stuff for less than 2k.

I did all the fluids myself last week for like $50. Then took the brakes to be bleed by my mechanic for a trade of a case of car care products i sell. $1200 is really high IMO and if i can do it anyone can.

I run European Motor Service in Longwood Fl, we specialize in service and repair of all italian sports cars. We were the original Ferrari dealership in Florida before Central Florida Maser / Ferrari.
Give me a call at the shop 407-831-9741 and I will work out the cost for the work you need. We service plenty of 308's and 328's so we can carry out any work you need for the car.
Our website is being updated but you can check us out at http://www.smartsportscars.com

Ask for Paul or Harvey and let us know you saw our name on this forum and we will sort out a good discount for you.
We are on 17/92 about a mile north of 434.

    Thanks

    Paul

In Orlando area: Speedworks Ferrari Service. Bill and Randy. Excellent people, excellent mechanics.

In Tampa/Sarasota: Lucianos (phone number mentioned above). Only great things to say about them.

In Ocala: Cavallino (not related). Have seen their work and looked good.

Major should run you less than $4K. Oil and Waterleaks could be anything from a main seal leaking to simply replacing a hose. Very hard to say what is a good price and what is too high. Fluid change fr $1200 sounds VERY high unless it is done by a 25 year old blond Swedish girl that is dressed only in an overall while you wait in the shop. $200 oil change with good oil, $100 tranny oil change, $100 radiator flush but what does take time is the 2h it takes a tech to squeeze the windshield washer till its empty. Powersteering fluid...none existant. Hydraulic fluid...non existant. If the brakes are part if that service add $150. Those prices are on the high end.

Tim Stanford for all the older cars. Tim is a master of carb cars. I think he tunes them with listening to the carb. Old school.

Murry Bacchus in Hollywood for Lambo and Ferrari of modern years.

Anything race inspired ANSA Motorsports Miami

Small stuff and Porsche NGT Motorsports North Miami.

Jupiter, West Palm area - Orbit Racing is GREAT. Historically a huge Porsche performance shop, however I've seen nearly everything in their shop, including Ferrari's... great people and purely meticulous work.
