The Alberta Thread!

Was passed by two Aston Vanquish's this afternoon. 1 black and driven by an F-chat member. The other was silver, blacked out tails, and had Manitoba plates. Both gunned it and sounded fantastic.

 

Could be the same car. It wouldn't be impossible. Though it is very nice. kulu Also has a 599 GTB. Sold already though.

Kulu also had a red 599 w/ same wheels there sometime last year. I think there was a picture posted from outside the showroom.

 

Not the same car. I believe this F40 came from the UK.

 

Legendary had a US spec car.

Kulu has a Euro spec car.

There are 3 F40's in Calgary.

 

The condition of Kulu's example is amazing.

 

I didn't know they made conversions, I was about 30+ meters away from the car, if thats whats common in Calgary most likely. Once again I saw a good amount of the rear end and was just like the few 288GTO pics I researched earlier tonight. Tom are you still enjoying the yellow coupe?

Good to see another F40 residing in Calgary. Also that 599 looks amazing.

Went to Edm this weekend, on the way up out of Calgary saw a red F430 and yellow murc on deerfoot.
Not much in Edm but still managed to see a black Lotus Exige, Red w/stripes Ford GT, and a couple of viper GTS's.

Also passed a car transport truck in Red Deer - Wonder what else is coming to town?

 

Kulu took his F40 to Race City yesterday.

One of my clients who was there told me he did 2+ laps and drove like a girl in a playground zone.

I am going to give him the gears when I see him on Monday.......a little friendly ribbing for sure.

 

Here are some spots from this weekend.

599 GTB w/ ZR plate frame. The car created a stir on 17th when he drove past Melrose. Such presence.
430 Coupe in the Beltline. I see this guy quite a bit. He had the car out in early March and seems to drive it.
SLR on 4th St.
An odd Ferrari I'm not sure what model it is. Sounded like a V12.

If it's the gray one in the bottom picture, that's a 365GTC/4 from around 1972. Nearly the same engine as a Daytona, very similar chassis (but with engine-mounted transmission instead of the Daytona's rear mounted trans). There were only around 500 GTC/4s made, IIRC. Good spot!

 

Looks like Steven's car to me. Though I can't recall what color his was. Can't seem to find his photos on my computer at the moment.

I spoke to Kulu when he was there. He said it was his first time taking the F40 for a good drive and he didnt want to test the limits in a $600K car he has never had any experience with. He also mentioned it's hard to be smooth with the car because the turbos come on so hard and you to have press the brakes very hard for it to slow down...I'm sure you would need a lot more than a few laps to get the hang of that beast!

 

At two laps in an F40 the turbos are barely warmed up yet although the tires might be there. They are not for the inexperienced at the limit.

Kulu is a smart guy and took the car home in one piece.

 

I remember how those turbos come on in Zahir's car. It's quite exciting hearing them spool up and then the blast of acceleration that follows is incredible. I imagine it would take time getting use to how much you can push that car on a track and getting your timing just right. But what fun!!!

 

Not much to see in this crappy weather - however someone was driving a black AM DB9 this morning heading north from hwy 2.

 

A former F-chat member just took delivery of a nice red Murci. Just in time for MORE snow...

 

It's snowing out there currently?! Wow thats gotta suck...

 

Don't worry, it should be gone soon. Besides, we barely had this much snow all winter... unlike you poor guys!
