Anyone ever had any luck with this procedure? I have in the past with a dent on a body line. It was a new car at the time. My question is, can a 85 308 withstand the techniques these guys use? I have seen it done and It def is a art form and requires a mountain of patience.
If they can get at the dent from behind, and can make a leverage point, it can be done. If there is bondo in the area it will crack. Also, if the dent is in an area where they have to attach a puller to the paint surface with adhesive, it's not recommended if the car has is a repaint. I've had it done on most of my cars, including aluminum.
I've had several dents taken out of my '85 308 GTS without having to repaint. The results were great! I'd highly recommend it over the traditional method of dent repair.
+1 with kevinwi post! Had a few small dents in my 84 308 GTB and it turned out great, just make sure you hire someone with plenty of experience as its easy to crack the paint if its pushed to far in one point.
I had it done on the roof of my old 911sc and it came out amazing. I showed the guy a couple of small depressions on the nose of my 308 and he said the metal is very thin and the results while improved would not be 100% so I skipped it. I guess it depends upon where the dents/dings are.
I have had good luck with it on another car of mine. I think it is worth a try given the low cost and if it doesn't work go with the traditional method of repair.
Worked great on each Ferrari I have had, 78 308GTS, then a 87 328GTS and now a 97 355 spider. These dent wizard guys are amazing!
No problems on my 328. It had a minor door ding and a small dent on the top of the fender when I bought it, now fixed.
The best guys do phenomonal work. The hacks (which there are a lot of) will make it worse rather than better. My advice would be to get a referral from a local ferrari or other high line dealer for a specific tech- not just a company. The good thing about a highline dealer referral is that they have alot of cars done for very picky customers- so they will know the quality of the work across the board.
I have used this procedure (done by a pro (not myself), if you are in NJ - let me know) .... and it came out amazing as well. I was actually stunned that this can be done to a car.
I had caved in my rear qp in my gt4 many years ago, I thought it was toast, 5 hours later the fix a dent master & it was unreal. I couldnt watch what he was doing, but the end result was awesome. My guy was one of the original inventors of teh process 7 I have to say I was amazed.
I called Dent Wizard and they tld me that they have a tech on site at Ray Catena Mercedez 5 days a week. Is this where you went?
