Actually they are Countach seats with the tops chopped off to accommodate a rather portly early owner. They are non-original and suit the post-accident non-original green :)

But its a real Pericopa... I think.

Yes this is a real LP400. Chassis No. 1120022. It was offered in Germany a decade ago for 50.000 EUR. At that time it still was black.

    Hi Joe,

You should be quite sure. Not just the chassis number #1120022 but also the roof says it is a "Periscopa".

The seats are original Lamborghini seats, probably redone by the factory when the car was modified in the 400 S disguise. And I will say that this "Periscopa" is the very best I ever sat in and I even think that the seats are more beautiful than the somewhat "buggy" like mostly fitted to the Countaches. But that's another question.

About the "accident", I and my son are the only one to tell about. We spun it at about 30 - 40 kmh, touched the barriar, stopped to look at the damages and just drove the car back home.

I know that there are better and more original "Periscopas" out there, cars that hasn't been driven more than a few hundred miles in their entire life. But that wasn't what Bob Wallace intented when he tested the prototypes in those days. And by the way, even the prototype had it's color changed, also to signalgreen, the same color as #1120022.

We can have different opinions on what color suits the car best. I myself think that this "Periscopa" looked better in silver but I am very happy seeing the new owner, Jesper, driving around in his favorite colored Countach.

And by the way, wasn't there a Miura SV in California that some years ago was restored and painted in a nonoriginal green as well?

    Kind regards
    Lars-Erik

just came back from a nice ride:
as usual a crowd stared at car while refueling it:
a nice guy talked to me all the time and said he was looking for ads on the net, he loves these cars, ecc....

he knew about models, engines, ecc...

i bet he will be more serious about his search after looking at one on the road (it was the sight of a black nice DD on the millemiglia carovana that made me REALLY looking for one ;) )

i forgot: these cars are worth owning just for the sound they make

Somebody (Don Sherman in Car & Driver I think) once said words to the effect: "You can drive through life in a Countach and not notice any other car..."

What a great saying for these cars...

1121100 belonged to a race team owner who ran a fish business specializing in jellied eels named Frankie J Bradley. Finished in rare "Luci Del Bosco" with Bianco leather and gold wheels, "FJB 1" was seen at racing circuit paddocks all over Europe.

It remains with a marque enthusiast today...

After viewing all the wonderful pictures I can't imagine why anyone would want a Countach with flairs wings or anything else that would destroy the perfect design. I guess it just makes those early cars a little more special, IMO. I like the lines of the Mangusta better than the Pantera too.
