Thought you guys might like to see what I got from a fellow fchatter who will be producing these for Forza Automotive. I had wrecked my undertray with some contact with our quality roads here in Oz plus I needed to fix one of the captive nuts for the seat that can only be reached by pulling the undertray off. Was also a good opprtunity to see the state of the chassis , will post some photos of the chassis later Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You know John, I have said to Moretti many times that he needs to drive his car more and stop fiddling and looking at it, tragic isn't it. He will not take my advice. MG
correct here are the photos Gleggy need to take better ones, the camera's batteries were dying Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine is pretty tore up. It was the first thing mentioned in my PPI. I will probably be wanting one. When will they be available from Forza? Estimated price?
No- But all you do is use the old one as a template. It may also be a good idea to get some modern insulation, water resistant closed cell alloy backed foam for protection against heat and cold between the cabin floor and undertray. MG
sorry for the length of time to get these photos up but here are a couple with the undertray removed, new one fitted and then painted. I think Gleggy has got someone in the US as a supplier Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I recognize a common problem. Refer to Moretti's photo which reveals the fiberglass floor. Note the long self tapping screws to fasten the center console front section, hopefully get a bite on the floor. Everyone knows about pop-rivets. Their cousin, poly nuts, are ideal for this situation. Checkout the fastener and tool. http://www.huck.com/marsoncorp/klikPolyNuts.htm Drill a hole in the floor and use the tool to pinch/squeeze the nut permanently in place. Then use standard screws. A kit, of tool + fastener variety pack, is available in metric or std threaded fasteners. Got my kit from Fastenal for about $100.
great idea Paul, I was thinking about putting captive nuts on the underside but this is a better idea. can you post a picture of the finished result if that's possible thanks ? the other problem is that the console sits proud of the floor so you need to put spacers between the floor and console , I had this same issue with my GT4
great, they're just down the road from my mum, will get her to get heaps of these for me. Thanks Micael
J John I'm sure you'll be able to get them in Brissy as well, a good engineering / fastener supply company will have them. Gleggy should have a source. Also, Wurth have them as well, but they are usually expensive; http://www.wurth.com.au/catalogueview.asp?pdf=A09_0118.pdf BTW Nice undertray, mine is trash too, I'd replace it now, except I haven't got a hoist yet, like some people I know ! M
But hang on, in Australia, isn't that how you make a small fortune, take a large fortune and go into business for yourself? MG
I have this and it works perfectly. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=94100 This probably work just as well http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=1210
Can someone post some photos of the underside of their LHD U.S. 308 while it's on the hoist please> MG
