Thanks guys. I appreciate all the input. My client is willing to pay over msrp but that still doesn't make any available at the moment. Looks like we will have to wait until June/July and join the list of others.........waiting also : / He hasn't seen one in person yet so I at least want to check one out. I am sure one will turn up at C&C one of these weekends?

The few GTR's that I know of in the US are Japanese Spec cars. The US spec cars are still a few months out.

I stopped by Connell Nissan in Costa Mesa last week to see about putting a deposit down. They basically told me that if I wrote a check for $130k then I could have one. They had no interest in taking a deposit for a later slot. If that is in your price range, you might want to give them a call.

I'm getting one the second I can find one at MSRP.

Expecting to pay under sticker, give it some time. If you are deciding whether or not to buy, sit tight and hold. A lightweight version coming out with XXXhp+ more and ----kg less. Oh, Porsche owners can you feel the burn?.

I would discourage any modifications to the car. The few, who are lucky to get one, leave it stock.

I would have to agree with the mark up comment but before you make comments like that, look at what one dealer in So.Cal was charging for the F430's when they just came out if you want to make remarks about rip offs.

Biggest let down will be the new Z06. If you want to talk about dealer mark up and rip offs, the z06 will set a new meaning of "RIP OFF". Who is up to pay $120K over sticker for a Vett ? . Got to hand it to GM, can't even get a sub lap time = or less then the new GTR. I like the comment and excuse from GM Test manager regarding the ring "damp conditions at the Nurburring". GM does not really care anymore, GM’s idea of consumer usage for the new Z06 is cruising up and down the local main street going 25mph and hanging out a the local coffee spot and just talking about what the z06 will do and will never see any usage what its designed for.

Hey, if you sell cars by large amounts to rental car agencies and build cars by the standards what jd powers customer survey has to do by the size of a cup holder. I only have to say “its a matter of time before Toyota buys out GM”, and put it out of its misery.

Don’t think Nissan is in the clear either. If you look at the history how the last 300ZX Twin Turbo was killed off, it was mainly a dealer’s lack of support with the cars and dealer high markups. Who would be motivated to pay $8700 for a cultch and turbo repair on the last generation 300zx Twin Turbo, and figure this was back 1995 money, that was not cheap. This raises red flags about the service costs. I hope Nissan will be working with customers and keeping a watchful eye on dealerships not screwing New GTR owners. Nissan should be making sure it's customer’s service is nothing but perfect for its new owners of the GTR. Encouraging product enthusiasm is the key and this advertising will = happy customers.

Happy customers = the best advertising.

Nissan will be watching certain unscrupulous dealers.

Btw, if you wanted or have a thought to picking up a R32, R33 or R34 GTR I would avoid it as tax audit.

Thanks for all the great input guys. I have tried to talk him into waiting till next year but sometimes in life there are things not worth waiting for. If he is willing to pay the "UP CHARGE" and not even blink then good on him ;)

Good morning, Troll. Your post is so ignorant as to be laughable. Love them or hate them, only a fool would refer to a ZO6 as a poseur, coffee spot car. They have proven their mettle on countless racetracks around the world. The street car is a fantastic piece of engineering that is equally at home on the track or street and offered at a bargain price. Go to any track day and you'll see just how fast they are. Perhaps you were referring to the upcoming ZR1? If so, they have been posting amazing times(from leaked testing). I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the official times will be.
I find it ironic that someone pimping a Nissan is accusing GM of a rip off on the ZR1. Hardly.
Finally, let's not include the Ferrari in any discussion of a Nissan. They are in different galaxies. We've all heard this before with the NSX. Where is that gem now? Oh yeah, discontinued. How's Ferrari doing these days? Hmmmm. Leading the World Championship(again), producing the world's best sports cars(again) and universally recognized as the ultimate expression of the art of the automobile(again). I think Ferrari also enjoys a nice waiting list for their vehicles as well.

The Nissan has produced some nice test numbers(with questionable impartiality) and will undoubtedly be a performer, but it is most definitely aesthetically challenged. Besides, there are still quite a few of us that prefer to be part of the high performance driving process, rather than let a computer disguise our lack of skill.
