Has anyone with a carbed 308 used them? If so, how did they perform and how long did they last.
We decided the standard tip was fine for the carbed cars, no real benefit to the iridium.. I change mine too frequently from dampness and fouling anyway, the ethanol is really bringing sludge out of my fuel system....
I have used a set of NGK Iridium BPR7EIX in my carbed 308 for the past 18 months and 12K miles with no fouling whatsoever. The car starts right up, cold or hot, idles smooth and runs hard to redline without missing a beat. I'll probably leave them in for another year or so. Rocco
NGK BP5ES....my cars are getting older and probably will need valve guides soon, I'm sure that is part of it. The water is from use in the rain and outside storage......

Well, I put the iridium plugs in and WOW, what a difference! The car ran smoother, it was able to rev to redline with NO hesitation and the minor backfiring I had is now gone. I am going to check them after a few drives to see how they look, but I have a feeling, based on other posters, they are going to be fine.
I too had great expirence with the iridium plugs , when i bought my GT4 with carbs it had motorcraft plugs and ran like crap, so i put bosch platium, they were good for a couple of weeks,after that , I mean it ran but was a little off sounding so i found the NGK Iridium, the # 6 `s it was like night and day, ran like a monster, and they were in there for 6 months before I changed them, + I only changed them cause I drove the car pretty hard, Nobody would beleave me when i told them the difference they made! At $ 8.00 each or so it was the best money I ever spent.( how can a $1,00 spark plug work like a $8.00 plug ) ? it cannot.
Light Plane Maintenance did a study on Iridium plugs over the standard, and came to the conclusion that even at double the price, they lasted longer, were less likely to foul with oil, and overall were a better value. They found the spark hotter, and less likely to get oil deposits, and therefore less fouling. On the newer cars with electronic ignition, probably doesn't make much difference, but the older ones probably need this extra help. Art
I run, and found them best for standard plugs, NGK 6 range plugs. I would say the same heat range should work for you.
Well...it's the 6 range but not sure what the rest means. I would try someone who actually put them ina 2V car
Have you heard of fake NGK Iridium? Thanks for the info. Pretty disappointed to hear about autohauz since I like the place and been sourcing from them for my MB parts.
For my old fleet of classic Mercedes I use pelican and rockauto. Hording brake pads and silver sparkplugs Everytime there's a clearance sale.
I like Pelican as well. But rockauto I only use for cheap stuff that I don’t care enough. but IMO autohauz had the most parts always and can be acquired in one order, others have only some parts.
Honestly not sure. I was surprised when ordering plugs recently that the variety of plugs has diminished. Due to my setup I use copper plugs ( turbo) and I noticed champion for example doesn’t make the originally specified plugs anymore.
