Care to share any stories on Haunted Houses
My 'Mrs' used to live in a house where the wallpaper would tear in front of their eyes, the dog would go crazy for no reason and her brother felt someone rub the top of his head a couple of times. They could also hear footsteps on floorboards upstairs when there was a carpet and doors opened and closed by themselves. I never used to believe in this stuff at all but now her and her brother have told me about these things i have no reason to doubt them, i even used to think people who claimed such things were a little mad (no offence anyone) This sparked a conversation with an employee about a week ago, he used to live in a house where a certain light would spin and doors used to slam. He said he came down the stairs one day and there was a person, only visible from the waist down walking across in front of him In the Uk we sometimes have people crop up on the news claiming to have seen 'big black cats' and i thought they were also possibly not quite the full ticket, until i saw one with my own eyes a couple of years ago. I dont tell many people though as they will probably think i am nuts like i used to when seeing someone recall it......
My mom told me a story about her grandparents, whose house was built on an old child cemetary or somewhere near it. Supposedly they would hear the sound of pots being banged around. Come in the kitchen in the mornings and pots and pans litered the floor. Have no reason to doubt my mom.
Old houses and abandoned churches.. i heard stories.. and in my old house... I could hear someone flipping the newspaper when I was studying as a kid. and when I always checked.. who was in the living room.. there was no one.. and no papers!!! Do share the story about the "big black cats"
Somewhere between Chappell Hill and Brenham, Texas. Small towns. Very small towns when my mom was a kid.
That is strange! My story isnt that interesting to be honest. There have been things in the media over the years such as 'the beast of Bodmin Moor' and various pieces on large black cats roaming around the countryside. I used to chuckle to myself sometimes as i thought they were probably about as true as the Loch Ness Monster. I followed the road around left hand bend as i was driving away from a town called Stamford whilst working a few years ago and after i came around the corner i saw a HUGE black cat walking across the road, it looked like a panther or something similar. It walked from left to right and as i got to exactly where i thought it went it must have walked into the trees on the right as i could no longer see it. I had a digital camera out fairly quick and stopped but i wasnt getting out to look for it. Thats it really, i wish i had taken a photo while it was still in the road ahead but didnt think about getting my camera out straight away, even though it was on the passenger seat.
I have had two experiences. One with a haunted house, the other with ghost's. The haunted house was an old abandoned home were I used to live in New Jersey, we would go there to try and scare each other. One night at about 1:00 AM, a friend and I decided to go to the house, just the two of us. It was a windy chilling night, very creepy. We entered the house from the front door, we did not have a flashlight only lighters. When we got in the house looked as usual, decrepit, trashed but it still had some furniture in it. We worked our way to the back room of the house, there was a couch up against a wall and I walked over to it, I picked up some sort of statue and tried to look closely at it while showing it to my friend, it was at that time I noticed it was a statue of Jesus Christ with the head cut off. Then I threw the statue back down, the couch moved and window shutters began to bang. We got out as quick as we could, and I will never forget that night.
damn you guys have all the good stuff in the old country - the US must not be fertile enough yet to really produce the interactive spooks.
so was it a size of a panther? any other description.. hmm.. well. i guess.. when it happens.. the last thing on your mind would be where's the damn camera.. lol
I have to hunt it down. It's on a VHS tape, I have to convert it to digital and then put it up on the web. I set the video to some "King Diamond" music "Welcome Home, from the album Them". Image Unavailable, Please Login
That land/house was sold sometime before I was born, so no chance to check that out. I guess technically I have a personal experience. A friend of mine in high school was tragically killed in August 2001, just days before his 19th birthday. He was quite the joker and always full of life. At his funeral, the A/C mysteriously went out just as the funeral was to begin. This is August in Texas so it was really hot and everyone was sweating. When the funeral ended, the A/C strangely started working again. The timing of it was uncany. We still consider it Nick playing one last joke on all of us. That night at a party to celebrate his life, there was no wind and all of the sudden a group of pine needles beside a trash can began to swirl in spot for a minute or so. And then they just stopped. We again said that was Nick's spirit. It was really bizarre.
I just stared at it walking whilst i was driving as i could not believe it. I did say it looked like a panther but to be honest i am not sure exactly how big a panther is, my knowledge of big cats is not great. It was WAY bigger than anything that could ever be any kind of domestic cat. It was also bigger a dog. I have been down the road a few times to have a look when i have been in the area but have seen nothing. BTW I have a attached a pic i took at work a few months ago of a modern extension on the back of a fairly old house (had to crop it for that reason sorry). Its not a ghost but it kind of looks like a face in the glass next to the reflection of me. This thread just reminded me of it, as i said i dont think its a ghost its just a reflection of the hedge. The pic does look spooky.... and yeah.. i see the face.. do you think its a face?well.. it sure look's like it.. or you must had been really lucky to get this pic.. with the hedge reflection. .of a face.. gave me goose bumbs!!!
may your friends soul rest in peace. When my dad passed away... and i was still quite young.. after the cremation.. in the evening.. a big moth came into the house... and some of us actually beleive that moth's are actually spirits that come to visit the family that the spirit has left behind..
It's very simple. The dog went crazy, and walked with shoes on, upstairs, and opened and closed the doors. The dog also rubbed the brother's head a couple of times. As for the wallpaper, that was probably a ghost.
This is also an interesting story, there are some holiday challets in Changi near the old changi hospital. Some of you might know the famous changi airport in singapore. Anway.. my cousin use to stay in one of the bungalow's which was on lease. One day, when my uncle was driving home with my cousin, they saw a Eurasian man walking up the hill where they were driving. It was ard midnight, and not many ppl stay around that area and it was a weekday.. so not many ppl ard. When they reached their destination. They saw the dude just behind them, walking in the direction of the challets. My uncle who was a bit tipsy decided to ask him where he was heading to. He just said, unit xx as i cant recall what unit it was. he also mentioned he was waiting for his gf. He was really polite and left... but my cousin who did not pay much attention just said.. that they did not look at his legs or shadow.. but though.. he was normal. The next morning, when the gardener was cutting the grass in the vicinity, my auty decided to ask whether he knew of a eurasian guy with their description and the unit number. The gardener then told her this, this dude was actually a spirit and that he does this every year, and re acts this all the time, walking to the challet. .. apparantely he would wait for his gf who has left him, and he commited suicide there by hanging himself over the ceiling fan. Those that been in spore changhi challets would know the old colonial bungalows and challets. As 4 people actually saw this dude, I dont believe this is a lie , but i guess.. to each its own
