The most daring thing about it is the stacked exhaust, which I like. ...but it looks like they forgot it was front engined when they approved the rear design....it looks like it belongs on a mid-engine chassis.
I was let down too, I felt the same way about the 612 and 599. The 612 has grown on me, but not the 599, now this on paper is probably the worst. Hopefully it looks better in person. Maybe Ferrari will come out with a $100K new Ferrari and that one will look better. :-(
I like it. I showed the pictures to a female coworker of mine, and her comment was that it looks like a chick car. Dom
Quote from Ferrari-Homepage: "In line with Ferrari tradition, the new model also features several innovations. Apart from its folding hardtop, these include the original 2+ concept which guarantees exceptional versatility of use in the rear of the car." This solution will be interesting, I can't see it from fotos. What do you think how thios works.....
Sure there are some odd design decisions in a handful of places, but overall I think it's nice so long as it still looks good with the top up. This car will sell like hotcakes! All of the latest technology with a mechanical hard top, a proper nav, and an option for a 2+2. If I had a 430 spider to sell right now, I would be concerned. This is going to be the new cruising car.
Andrew you are too funny. Beginning of the End of Ferrari for you??? Impossible. A Daytona is still a Ferrari
Im jewish so i tend to be pessimistic . I used to defend Ferrari even when i wasnt completely in love with the design but there is nothing, design wise, that appeals to me with the California GT.And im sure its another 1600kgs car... Fortunately as you said, there are still the old ones..A Daytona and an F40 might just be the perfect pair.
Where did i see those tail lights ?? Some concept car ? I know its been done before but cant remember which car.
I got your sense of humour. Reminded me of my best friend from grad school. Agree on the F40 and Daytona. But still think the 288 GTO is a notch above both. I just moved these 3 cars into my new garage today and they are in a row. Haven't driven my F40 for a while and had a fantastic run through Hong Kong at night - what a car! Will post a picture tomorrow if I have the chance before I head off to NYC. Agree with you about 1600kg cars. California GT looks perfect to me for a boulevard cruiser instead of an SL63. I am excited to get mine and will hold off forming an opinion till I live with it for a while. If my son likes the back seat the car will survive for a while
Now don't hold back - tell us how you REALLY feel Personally, I think the Lexus on the previous page looks more like a Ferrari than this on. Jedi
So the 2+2 is an option? If you opt not for 2+2, do you get a shelf? Sure doesn't look like fun to ride in the back for anyone older than 5. I like the look overall. Not really feeling the exhaust though. I'll wait until I see one in person before passing final judgement.
Is this an official release and pic? Or is this a bunch of comments over a fake speculative pic AGAIN? If this in fact the real car, I am PSYCHED because it's absolutely horrible which means F430's will be even more desired and worth more. This Z4 looking POS is 100% gross. Normal, plain, blah production car look and embarrassing to have a Ferrari badge on it. The only Ferrari worse than this thing is the Mondial and that's pretty fricking bad.
I'm not seeing 2+2 anywhere? I keep seeing the term "2+" used but I'm pretty sure that is like the M-B SL which has a rear bench that can accomodate items for storage, not little people.
