I find it interesting that, the privileged authentic locals love Lambo's, the "reverse immigrants", those who went oversea and got education and returned to China, are more into Ferrari's than Lambo's.

Well, not that I'm exactly like that (I did have 2 F/Pcars) but a Lamborghini was & maybe still is screaming "look @ me", the image factor. It was more exclusive & expensive (generally since Lambo only had a model or two top end before & were actually struggling to deliver) So, an uber rich guy who wants to flaunt $ would just buy it. Whereas a Ferrari enthusiast is more into racing & proper driving. That's my take for now. But take note that I mean enthusiast, not another rich kid on the block...

U know, of the 3 marques here in SG. The Porsche owners are more family oriented, they have lots of events, trackdays & family comes along (maybe the 2+2). The FClub brings along mistresses while the serious ones go for F1s, Italian trackdays etc & the Lclub.....geez all the sleaze that you can think of LOL! O but they do have expensive Italian trackdays that I'm saving up by the day :)

I was considering going back for the GP, I was there earlier this year, had a blast.

But it seems like my work schedule might conflict and I'l be in glorious New Jersey during the GP weeks. I'll be more certain towards the end of August, but as of now it looks like Shanghai F1 won't happen.

I'm considering moving out to Shanghai or HK sometime in a year or two though just to try something different (would need to go job hunting first, and I don't like salary out in Shanghai even though standard of living is much cheaper.)

I'm far from being an F-Car owner though, just a huge enthusiast.

Will most certainly hit you up via PM if things change and I end up at the races.

glorious new jersey? damn i live in new york and never realized that :p
shanghai is a very nice place to live nowaday.
although u can't rely on a local salary, try to find a company here that will send u there and still pay u well per NY standard, and have them throw in housing reimbursement, then ur set.

    hahaha Trenton of all places.

That's what I'm working on, trying to find someone who'll pay me in NY standard then I can go live like a king in HK or Shanghai, problem is, where to find some company dumb enough to do that when labor over there is already so cheap :p

Updating this thread a bit, with some pics from this Asia trip, left New York in September, matter of fact I am still here, in Hong Kong.
just gonna put up few pics from each city. our travel style is relaxed, we don't do much signtseeing unless we have never been to the city, so mostly we just eat, shop, eat some more and hitting up clubs.

1st stop was Tokyo. for 5 days.
night and day view of tokyo skyline from my hotel room, ritz carlton at tokyo midtown tower.
the only reason to do tokyo was for kobe beef, and we had them everyday. sushi did not suck either.
saw some ferraris there of coz.

2nd stop was Singapore, 3 days, for the F1 race.

we stayed at the Pan Pacific hotel, had a balcony suite on high floor, with the track view.
Our seats at the track, was Grand stand turn 3, due to it being a street circuit, seating is not high enough to view more track, we only saw cars passing by for few seconds each lap. to be honest, this is the 1st night race so we wanted to be part of it, next time, one should either just watch it from a track side hotel, or man up for the paddock suites, track side seats is pretty much no point, especially at $1200 USD a seat.
as seen from my pics, the view from my suite at pan pacific would have been better. we could have seen more actions.
we watched qualifying from hotel, and race day we were at the track.

SIngpare skyline is always beautiful without a doubt.
and oh yeah we saw the famous pink Zonda.

4th stop was Guangzhou, Guangdong province, china.
saw a superamerica in front of some auto dealership.
downtown skyline, and night view of the football stadium from westin hotel.
    the river bank water front.
had dinner at this place where they had freshly chopped up some aligator, and some huge fish looked like 800 lbs heavy.
in guangzhou u have to get some dimsum, thats where it all started.

5th stop was ChongQing, china. 4 days.

ChongQing is know for hotpot, hotpot to some of you, prolly is better known as steam boat, or shabu shabu.
other than that, it really doesn't have much to do.
all we did was, tried different hotpot restaurant everyday, went to an ancient town. hit up some night clubs.
