If a picture paints a thousand words I'll say no more. Here's some snaps of more Carbon Fiber goodies going into my car. Weight reduction is really starting to get there now. Soon I'll post some pictures of my strad-ified interior too. Not yet had a custom cf centre console done yet. Planning on using start button but also considering integrating Race Logic's launch control too. I'll have to see how that goes... BTW - I've got my Koenig Twin Turbo kit waiting here now - Huge Grin! However I will not been fitting until Q2 2008 though - on a spare 360 engine so as to reduce downtime. I can post some pics of the parts if ppl are interested?
Keep them coming. Good to see the progress. Have you any additional pictures of the car and the parts installed as an update to your prior ones? Thanks. Alberto
Great thread Trev, but the obvious question is, wouldn't it have been a cheaper option to buy a CS outright in the first place? How much have you spent transforming your stock 360 to CS spec (including cost of buying your car)?
Because you can't buy a manual CS, so you really can't put a price tag on it. I am sure if the pope called Ferrari and said that he wanted a manual CS, Ferrari would build him one.
what an amazing post. i love that you took a car that was almost what you wanted and made it what you wanted. Any updates on the project. by the way it is just freakin AMAZING !!! !!! !!!
What a fantastic project and posts by Trev. I admire the clarity of your objectives and the precision with which you are pursuing them. It is wonderful to see this type of project on a Ferrari. I am building a Cobra replica on a TVR spaceframe chassis with a TVR 5 litre engine now. Every part suits what I want out of the car. I have the freedom of doing whatever I want on that car. You are remaining true to the style of the CS but without constraint. Really great
OK but wouldnt it have been easier to buy a CS and change the F1 box to a manual? Is this not possible?
hi trev, we're having a bit of a discussion over here on another thread regarding the difference in weight between the modena under tray and the stradale under tray. ferrari has published info stating the stradale under tray is some kind of resin impregnated with multi-axial carbon fiber which results in a weight savings of 50 percent compared to the modena under tray. if you have an opportunity to weigh these components and post the results it would help settle some bar bets over here thanks!
Some good photos of the car at the ring, plus some updates http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=198947
I love these technical threads by Trev regarding his CS project. Someone needs to comb through them and make a reference document with all the juicy facts and details (I don't mean me). - Joe
weight / Unless you race for a living, does it really matter ? We will NEVER have the opportunity to drive the cars to their fullest potential.
