Anyone plan on stopping by? Here's some information - http://www.universalautosports.com/events/upcoming/grand_opening.htm
That says the CCX is for sale, but I thought they're telling people that come to look at it, that its a customer's car and not for sale? Yet they can order one.
Saw something recently on TV...Supercars Exposed w/that fellow Tanner Faust...and he got to drive a Konig....the owner was quoted as saying that there are fewer than 10 in the entire United States???....is that accurate???...if so wonder why???....def. not because of the price....Thanks S
It's listed in inventory; it's for sale. That sounds about right, but I don't for sure. Koenigsegg doesn't produce many cars per year. I can tell you this much: the craftsmanship that goes into these things is insane. The one on the floor is sick. More carbon fiber than I've ever seen on one car. The carbon fiber inside of the engine bay is richly detailed and has a flawless weave. The interior has beige leather and blue Alcantara - the whole car is overwhelming.
I'll try my best to be there...always been a big fan of Koenigsegg. I watched that episode of Supercars Exposed...I think the numbers are right when he said there were around 4 of them here. A while ago Fifth Gear interviewed this guy from England he had 2 (CCR if I'm not wrong) of the 16 ever sold according to Fifth Gear. So that should give us a hint of how many there are in the US.
According to a reliable source the vehicle has been sold and is a customers car. The website probably says it is for sale to get people in and then they will tell them they have to order one.
Simply because the car is not an established brand like Ferrari or Lamborghini and people are hesitant to spend $1M or more on a car with an unsubstantial history. I have spoken to several people that have car collections and many have said the same thing. They are also VERY rare in production numbers (25 per year??) and also in the US before this dealer there was really only one available for service so getting this repaired is a pain in the butt. With all those factors, it is no wonder why they are not that popular, not to mention there is NO resale value on this car what so ever as this is for a VERY limited clientele; ie one that does not care about the above statements.
It's been proven that very expensive cars are difficult to sell a lot of. People just can't justify spending $650k on a Koenigsegg or an Ultimate Aero or insert expensive car here when they can have a Murcielago or a Ferrari (a brand they recognize and a brand that performs well enough for their needs) for a lot less with a dealership network in their vicinity. I wonder if the Pagani Zonda will suffer the same fate when/if it comes here.
Now that there's an authorized dealership, servicing the cars isn't a problem. They're very rare, because of the price. They're shooting for high profile clientele and I wish them luck in selling those cars. I would love to see some people buy them in our area. Lamborghini, Ferrari they all started somewhere. Comparing those established brands to Koenigsegg is comparing apples to oranges. There has been no negative reviews about either the performance, the built quality or anything else about the car other than the price. It's a very appealing car and hope they stay in business!
You and me both. I want people to buy them so a second hand market is created so that at one point I can purchase one!!
It was amazing today! The P 4/5 looks amazing...never thought I would see it...and while I was walking towards my car I see a MC12 coming...I was shocked! lol
Nice turnout of cars there today...The P4/5 was there - what more do you need? The CCX was absolutely stunning and an MC12 is always nice to see...I'll try to post up some pics later today...
Super facility! Service area is very impressive and Koenigsegg is pretty wild. Cars they had for sale looked great and I think they will do very well. Nice seeing old friends!
Had a blast today! To bad I got there when the MC12 was leaving and the P4/5 was no where in site. Here are some of my picture's - http://gs249.photobucket.com/groups/gg212/DQ7AT7KC1/
