    If the car is currently registered in California and you are the current owner of record, then the identity of the previous owner is probably no secret to you. What I'm saying is that they will not release an ownership history listing past owners - especially to someone who is not listed with them as the current registered owner. Even a dealer (I've been one) can only access limited information and can not pull a complete ownership history.

    Still, I wish him luck!

    Otherwise,the car has left Italy in the years 1958 1960 (?) to California very probably before peter Helm bought it (in ? 1963 1964).
    Can we find old publicity on sale cars specialize magazine ? "to sale red Barchetta Ferrari road car with race history,no more miles....."
    We can search also in a local dealer specialize in exotics cars ??? In salt city ?
    There is nobody in California who remember this car or obtain information ?

    I'm not sure what your asking. The car was offered by RM at their auction. It was full disclosed what it was. Marcel researched it and I believe they used his notes in the supplemental catalogue.

    The car is what it is.

    No, you did not understand me; during my searches to I was told that it would be bernie Chasse who would have discovered 0117S the first one, Bernie would then have spoken about it to Mr Massini ?
    I wished only that we confirm me or counters this, having no answer of Mr Massini.

    Yes , Peter is still living,I have spoken him by phone for few
    months ago about 0117S(who has owned in 1962-63).
    He is a very unaffected and attractive person.

    I have find out that the old Californian license plate XUR 237 have also numbered 63 (1963) engraved.
    Are the Californian license plate attributed to the Person or to the Car ?
    I have contradictory views.
    Anybody could answer me ? SURE !
    We have a picture of the Car in 1962-63 (?) with peter Helm license plate OTY 631 or DTY 631
    We have also in year 1963 the license plate XUR 237 ,but the last Californian owner Podolor Richard has his Certificate of Ownership registered in 1968 ???
    If the license plate are attributed to the person ,its means that Podolor Richard owned the Car since 1963 to 2007.
    If the L.P. are attributed to the Car its means that one or several owners could have owned 0117S to 1963 to 1968.

    In California, the plates stay with the car unless the original owner wants to keep them or the new owner requests new plates. The Black plates with Yellow letters started in 1963. The same "1963 Series" plates were issued until October 1969. Each January a new registration sticker for the year would be issued and then applied to the "1963" style rear plates.

    Plate OTY 631 likely issued 1965-66.
    Plate XUR 237 likely issued 1968-69.

    None of my photographs are clear enough to show the year printed on the stickers on the XUR 237 plates. Are they 1968 & 1969 or 1972 & 1973?

    I can see two registration stickers : a 1970 orange and under a pink ?
    a 1972 yellow and under a white ? I cannot unstick without damage it
    But I don't understand if Plate XUR 237 is engraved 1963, it is not possible to have OTY 631 issued 1965-66 ? ; OTY 631 is obligatory issued before,in 1961-62 ???
    I can legitimately think that in 1961-62 , 0117S was owned by peter Helm (OTY 631 ) and after in 1963 the Car was sold to an another owner possibly Richard Podolor but not sure?...... correct ?
