    Monaco has no practice on Fridays, qualifications are Saturday.

    The locals (?) need to get out was the story when I was working there. The barricades (etc) take a lot of time to erect, and while they're around you're pretty much screwed driving in the principality.

    So, the logic is - Get 'em in early, let them do their thing on Thursday (= Friday on normal tracks) Then, open the thing back up on Friday to let the locals escape prior to the W/E proper.

    I think Corpus Christi is actually a Thursday. I understood that the Thursday practice was a tradition originated so the Prince could have a quiet Friday morning breakfast at the Royal Palace?

    i won't be here to watch the quali. will be goin for a holiday. will be back on raceday. hopefully it'll be either Ferrari on pole and a win. it's been so long since Ferrari won here.

    When I went to the Monaco GP in 2005 the track was always open between races, practice etc. Even right after the race was finished I walked part of the track which was still very warm from the race :)
