    How the mighty have fallen.

Its gotta be a psychological disorder to go from being rich and famous to blowing it all.

He is, trust me :) It's the whole reason he started all these boy bands in the first place.

On top of that he gave these kids in the boy bands some pretty screwed up deals. A friend of mine's brother was in O-town (one of his lesser known boy bands) and he said his deal was so screwed up he barely saw any money at all. Not that they sold too many records anyway...lol

He was a total scumbag, it was well-known locally. He got what he deserved, more or less.

Which one? I worked with those guys a couple of times

They did. All of the bands did. He paid Backstreet $1,500 a piece for performing on their first big album. They eventually got more money later after suing him, but that's the kinda mentality he has. It's funny, he had a cd of Backstreet in his office at the studio with a put out cigar on it.

Some documentary on TV a few years back about Pearlman and his boy band creating machine...One of the guys from one of the bands said it was'nt uncommon to see a kid walking out of Pearlmans office zipping up. Rumor was if you wanted Lou to shine the spotlight on you more you would have to let him blow ya. A few people on the board in the business could give us some accurate insight I bet.

Oh, how low people will allow themselves to go to "make it".

I've always wondered how low some of the celebrities have gone to get to the next level.

The spanish kid. I forget his name, I used to work with his brother Felix, if what he told me was true.

He financially ruined or harmed a lot of people. Maybe not out on the streets broke, but definitely affected. Some may say it was only banks and institutional funds that got screwed, but behind those institutions are individual investors. And technically, he screwed every US citizen, considering his tax bill.

Buying your way out of jail is NOT punishment. He's guilty, let him suffer. IMHO

I know, but it just seems insane. I mean the guy is in prison for ripping people off, and this guy wants him to manage his sons band? WTF is he thinking?

Well on one hand I guess it's the safest bet as Lou can't really skip town with the money now can he?

On the other, I'm thinking I'd never give a guy in prison for stealing money any of my money. That's just absurd.
