The 599 and 430 spider and coupe (not the Scuderia) are declining in value as more cars hit the states. The 599 Spider will be limited in numbers. Will this continue to go up in value like the Enzo or is it a crap shoot, value wise, to get hold of one early, assuming that the dollar figure over sticker will be very high. I welcome your thoughts.

look at the 550 Barchetta prices, and you'll know where the 599 spider prices with eventually go... they are way down... you can get them with VERY LOW mileage in europe at great prices... LONG GONE ARE THE DAYS OF THE 250 GT CALIFORNIA SWB :)

599 Spider will be made in very limited numbers because there will already be 2 covertible models in the Ferrari range (430 Spider and California) so I would think that it will be very difficult to get on the list for one, therefore prices will be well above MSRP for at least the first couple of years.

rumour has it that when Merc took off the top of the SLR, Ferrari will follow suit. but it's just a rumour i read in a mag.

however, i think the 599 will look really beautiful without the roof.

The GM for ferrarri Mr. Amadeo Felisa stated to the German mag. Auto Motor und Sport that we can expect the 599 GTS in a limited series to debut sometime in 09. I currently own a GTB and would trade it in in a heartbeat for a slot at a GTS. For me, as a convertable .... The best of both worlds! It would also be drop dead beautiful. Looking very much like the classic Daytona Spider.

You would be losing one of the most unique and attractive features of the car, in the rear quarter of course.

Like everything else in life. With every choice one makes, you gain something and you lose something. Whats more important, is your decision to male.

When will the 599 Spider go up in value?

As soon as it's released. That's when.

599 Spider will have a more powerful engine than 599. That engine will become standard on the 599 facelift. 599 Spider will also have Superfast 2. It will be the fastest production car Spider ever made. I have decided against buying one

Great comments and thanks for your input. A broker I have used is working on getting me a spot for the 599 GTS for 2009.

That's very funny. The reality is that every 599 convertible is already spoken for. If no-one has spoken to you about if from Ferrari you're probably not on the list :) Sorry about that.

So the 599 Vert premium is the same price as a F430 spider or California? I fail to see how that is possible, especially with prediction that by beginning of 09 599 price will drop to bear NSRP.

More then possible when you take into consideration the initial premiums on the not so limited 599 GTB.

If a 599 Spider is released, it may be the final stage of the 599-production as the 550 Barchetta was for the 550 and the SupeAmerica was for the 575 M. Normally the production period of recent Ferraris is in a range about 5 years and the Spiders of the above mentioned appeared a year before the production ended and the specific model was replaced by it's successor. With the Barchetta, Ferrari numbered the cars individually. There are 449 + 12 prototypes. Of SA it is said that production is 559 (thereoff 495 F1 and 64 Manual), but not individually numbered. The reason for giving up individual numbering is rumoured, guessed and discussed widely on FChat.

Hope this helps and looking forward to 599 M GT Barchetta!

This will be my fifth car from my broker. I'll start a new thread in '09/'10. Again, broker is not getting the car from Ferrari, their client is who gets all his cars direct and then sells through broker for a profit. Yes, I will be paying the profit.
