Maturity, decent spelling/grammar, manners, and being more friendly would be a fantastic start. Quite frankly the reason why you get the answers to your questions is because it is absolutely none of your business how other people make their living. And they certainly wouldn't be willing to share that with a rude kid who is nothing but a stranger to them. You're 17 and you claim you don't have "much time?" Oh, please.

My advice would be to create a new screen name, reintroduce yourself to this community, and start all over because you've clearly already left a bad taste in the mouths of a lot of members here. Don't miss out on a great opportunity to network and converse with some highly successful and above that, genuinely nice guys.

    Good Post. Enough Said.

The facts are pretty obvious......Hard work, and dedication go a long way in providing a good life and a good income.

The people who are successful figured that out before they were 17.

I just about fell out of my chair when I read "I paint Skittles." LOL

Could be better though. I count M&M's 3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3=1 Bag

This, in my opinion is good advice! No shortcuts, just hard-work and being smart.

    Breakx,

Welcome, you appear to be the entertainment for the afternoon. Thank you for starting the thread.

Here's some advice: If you are in too much of a hurry, you will go nowhere. Take some time, read though various sections of this site learn the culture here (yes, there is one). If you don't have time for us, we don't have time for you either (other than to entertain ourselves at your expense, of course - again, thank you for this). Once you have done so, think about what you can contribute and do so (maybe it is just entertaining us). Then, ask specific questions based on what you have read to clarify what you have learned.

Second piece of advice (already offered, but I thought it was worth restating because you didn't seem to get it): Find something that will earn you money that you enjoy doing. Otherwise, you will not make it. You will spend a significant portion of you life working, why have it be a miserable experience?

    Regards,

    Art S.

Excellent advice! I would ad just one thing to #10, Get a job or 'start your own business'.
One more thing, don't be offended by the other comments. Just laugh and go on. This question has really been asked to death. I'm surprised your search did not turn up much. You should see some of the creative responses from the past posts.

    Listen to me.

I'm 18 and joined this forum back in September of last year. One of my first posts in the business section of this forum (yes, I subscribed) was me trying to do a sales pitch on a MLM. Like you, I was hungry for the luxury items and hungry to achieve it at a young age. I never particularly wanted to do something that I wasn't interested in as far as a career, but for side jobs I didn't care: anything to make a penny.

I advise that you CHANGE that attitude as soon as possible. Try to think of what interests you and what you can see yourself being good at because you know what? It doesn't matter what you do you will be wealthy and people who have a will FIND A WAY!

Everytime you do something with only money in mind, you fail three times as hard. The best things in life usually are unexpected.

    For instance:

Last week I told my boss (I work for a Mortgage company) that I was going to put my two weeks in. I was making minimum wage doing entry level marketing and I was mostly in the job for networking and experience. I'm interested in finance as well so it wasn't hard to get hooked. Anyways enough of the background and to the story.

I told my boss that with college expenses coming up, I would need to be making some more income and that minimum wage wasn't doing it for me. Immediately he said that he wanted me to stay in his company, and that he and I think a lot alike. At the time my Father was going to hire me in his Drywall business doing paperwork for 13.50$ an hour (something I wasn't as interested in).

Fast forward one week later, i'm now a Jr. Loan Officer with virtually no limit to my earnings. My father is buying another house for 535k and i'm doing the loan. It is going to net be about two semesters of college tuition off one loan, and or three months of 50 hour weeks working for my father.

The point i'm trying to make here is that I didn't follow the money. I did something that I was interested in and the money came. theres various other side businesses I do as well that are turning profitable. I hope to own my first Ferrari sooner than later, but nothing that will jeopardize my financial situation. I will be taking Economics as my major and Finance as my minor in college. My ultimate goal is to manage billions (or perhaps trillions with current inflation rates) of dollars one day in a fund.

So again if there is a will there is a way, and do something that your interested in because it doesn't matter what the average is, if you like the job you WILL be above average and you WILL own that Ferrari.

Sorry if my post lacks grammar etc, just got our of surgery yesterday (Septoplasty) and i'm a bit loopy.

    Dan

Set goals and do whatever it takes to reach them. It will be hard and there will be times where giving up will seem like the best option, stick to it and you will succeed.

As far as what I do for a living right now I wholesale cars to auctions and on eBay, but I've only been doing this for a few months. I sold parts in the import and euro community for about 5 years before this.

From someone who dropped out of high school at 15, moved out and had a Ferrari by 18.

What you're looking for is a career or a secret answer that doesn't exist, which is why you're being mocked. It's not WHAT you do. It's HOW you do it. I can make money doing anything, all it takes is serious effort and dedication. We have people here who sell houses/cars, doctors, people who manufacture something as tiny as a $0.10 part in a dishwasher and much more. Again, you can make money doing just about anything, the key is to have the motivation and the ability to do it. It's not for everyone, some people were really just made for 9-5.

Just my 2 cents, what I'm doing NOW for a living has little to do with my owning a Ferrari!
It's a life of 'right moves' that got me there. You can't get a 'life of right moves' until you
at least live a good part of that life. There is no quick path. And 'stuff' was NEVER a goal
in my life or most of the folks here. 'Stuff' (like Ferraris) is a byproduct of lots and lots of
good choices as an adult, hard work, and a sense of bettering one's self. So unless your
dad kicks and leaves you the till, you're just going to have to cool your jets, finish school,
and embark on that life of right moves. You'll know when you're ready for 'stuff'.

And for your 'concrete answer', I run a sales/marketing company specializing in professional
pro audio gear in 7 states, and I'm 100% commissioned sales. Pays well because I work well.
I don't work - I don't get paid. But I'm just a plain old salesman. Is that the answer you
    wanted?

I'm 22, and have a Ford Ranger. I'm going to be an elementary school teacher, and so is my girlfriend. It's obvious I will never be able to afford a Ferrari...so instead, I just decided to join a Ferrari forum and make casual conversations with the owners every now and then. At least this, in some way, makes me VERY distantly somewhat related to people who own Ferraris. And, by extension, makes me feel cool. It's working quite well for me so far :)

Only if you make that choice. NEW Ferrari, yeah, probably not. Something classic from the 80s costs less than a big SUV, easily in reach.

Never say never! You're SO young - your life has yet to begin. And there's SO MUCH MORE to
life than 'stuff' (like Ferraris). Were I to lose my wife, or my kids, I'd have NOTHING and that
car in the garage would be just a piece of stuff to me. Go teach - enjoy your job, your life,
your family, your parents (I no longer have parents!). Stuff is overrated.

Don't begin to tell me if I do or do not have time. You have absolutely no clue. And yes I did read all the threads, each was the same as mine. I need not re introduce myself I am the same person regardless.

And Jedi thanks for a serious response, I work at a country club and about 80% of the members claim to be Salesman, makes me wonder. (And no I don't ask them, they make it very clear) And as far as school is concerned I graduated early from highschool, and am already in college so I need to decide what major now.

Hey thanks for the inspiration guys, I really appreciate that! Sometimes it's easy to lose focus on what's really important in life...especially at ages such as mine.
