Very interesting! The number of FXXs is very limited and I suppose every owner is well known, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find out if this is a 'normal' one taken out for a spin (illegaly?), or if there's more behind it...

This is the beginning of the sightings, the talks, the reports, the sounds, the ideas, the horrible Cayman photoshops (that look better than the finished product) and all that goes with the beginning of a new Ferrari supercar.

If you look at the little details of the car in the photos above, you'll notice it doesn't have a radio antenna nor can you see the raised aspect of the vent on the nose - the whole boot-lid is flat. She's minus a tow-hook as well. It may just be me, although the front over-hang looks ridiculously long.

For me, all of this is a sell that those photos are indeed of some mule for the new car. I'd love some rear photos... Can't wait for more to come out about this one...

Are the little bumps ahead of the front doors on the fenders where the mirrors would normally go? Why would it have mirror mounting places and also the rear-view camera?

So how many FXX were produced with side mirrors? From what I have read here it may be as few as two, which would narrow the "search" down, as this one has the mounts.

The mirror mounts are circled in blue in the first pic, and the second pic is a "standard" FXX" (no bumps on fender), while the third is with the mirrors installed and no camo and you can see where the mirror meets the "bump" shown in the first picture.

Did it have a license plate? All road tested Ferraris seemed to have to date. An FXX wouldn't probably be eligible for one (would it?). Also - anyone get a good look at the engine bay? The "new Enzo" is rumoured to have a smaller engine - should be easily distinguished from the Enzo/FXX unit.

Smaller as in liters or pistons? Liters I hope.
I really wish it will look absolutely nothing like the enzo/FXX, not that I don't like them, but I think Ferrari somehow needs to take their cars into an entirely different arena.

Less in Pistons, it is supposed to be a V8.

The bumps on the fenders are additional cameras. I read about this being an option somewhere. Near as I can tell, it's "just" an FXX Evo with unpainted rims and tape to keep the paint safe. Perhaps they're taking to the factory to Zanassi (sp?) for something? After all, they did assemble the bodies...

Well, it's definately an FXX Evo - the new paint job (protected with all the tape, etc) and the additional "wing mirror" cameras.

Not all the FXX Evos have been delivered yet - mine will be 2 weeks+, so you may soon see similar pictures of a blue one!!

I suspect that it's an FXX Evo being taken elsewhere in Maranello for some work, or heading to Fiorano for a run out, as has been already suggested here.

The FXX is a test mule, so there's no real need for them to be disguised or tested in secret!!

    Yeah, I also thought so.
I heard Ferrari will built 3-5 new FXX Evo's...
Two of them ought to be sold to HK already!

Wouldn't taking out a customer's FXX onto the streets be quite a risk? A bit safer to trailer it if it needs to go somewhere, no?

    I wouldn't worry me - whilst it's at Maranello it's covered by Ferrari's insurance!

In addition to the FXX's that are being upgraded to Evo, Ferrari are building 3 brand new FXX Evos. One of my friends is getting his in Rosso Scuderia and another of my friends is getting his in black. I know for sure that the black car is not finished yet

It SHOULD worry Ferrari though - not the cheapest piece of kit...

True, but then agian the FXX isn't your 'run of the mill' Ferrari ;)

It's an FXX EVO. In Italy you can drive any Ferrari anywhere you want. If you stick on a PROVA plate you could drive an F1 car on the road. There are sections of the AutoStrada that were only reserved for High Speed Testing. Regular cars weren't even allowed. You can still see the "Pits" on the section outside of Turin where they tested the 312 P's.

When I drove 0846 over there Italian Customs ignored the NY plate and marked the customs form allowing the old PROVA number
MO 53 that was painted on the car to be used on the roads. Even that was unnecessary. No one has ever asked to see my papers in the Homeland.

The Enzo replacement is a ways away and I wouldn't look for mules for a while.

Not sure I understand your question. As I understand it there were 30 FXX's built and they are all the same. The FXX Evo package is being fitted to a number of these 30 - I am not sure how many and maybe RTB could give us an insight. Ferrari also is buiding 3 brand new cars which are FXX Evos. My understanding is that the newly built FXX Evos will be identical to the FXX's that are being upgraded to FXX Evo. The rationale of building 3 additional cars is that the FXX Evo test platform was a bit thinner in the ranks than optimal because some of the FXX's were not very active. It is interesting that 2 out of the 3 new FXX Evos have been purchased by Hong Kongers. There was no shortage of demand for these 3 cars. I guess it helps to have Jean Todt as the head of Asia

Me too. For me, the ultimate super Ferraris should have a normally aspirated V12. OK, granted that the F40 was a great car, there is just something about a V12. Also, please give us again a manual transmission supercar! I know this is very unlikely. I guess we have seen the last "non-digital" Ferrari supercar with the F50.

I had heard that there were three FXX EVO's being built with "Special" body kits for the Middle East but you know how rumors go and these "Regular" EVO's are probably them.
