Just wondered what everyone called their GT4 when talking to other folk - e.g. "So what kind of Ferrari do you have?" replies "Err, a Dino" I guess we could call them 308's, 308GT4's, Dino's, Dino 308GT's and probably more. Lee '77 GT4
Start with 'Ferrari' then backpeddle from there. If they understand cars, they'll get the Dino part. If they don't, it won't hurt a thing to leave it at Ferrari. It looks like one, drives like one, and to most people it IS one. How many folks call a Porsche 914 a Volkswagen? Only Porsche people! Jedi
I tell people I don't know only if it somehow comes up that I have a Dino. If they know a Dino from a Kia, then I go on to say it is a 308GT4, if they have no idea, it is best just left right there. Maybe tell them it is Italian and made by a little sports car company in Italy that only made a few thousand cars a year, not very many of them in the USA. You could tell some people that the car company was started by a guy who left Alfa Romeo, but at this point most people over here don't even know what an Alfa is. My wife and I call it "the car." We have other cars, but it is "the car."
I know this is about Dino vs Ferrari ,so this is off topic...when people ask me if my 308 is real I say "of course not...it's a kit car". Goes over real well LOL ::))
Very true...unless it's a 914/6...then it's a Por-sche!!! I look at my 3082V that way. It would be a 914/2
