I've only ever operated such a device perhaps 3 times in my life so far. Unfortunately, I find myself in the position of needing such a contraption. I know I'm going to be stuck with Verizon based on the area in which I will be using the phone.

Can anyone recommend which of the many phones available from Verizon would be best for someone who:

    1) Pretty much just wants to friggin' send & receive calls. Don't need a million funky ring tones or music capability. Texting or web browsing is NOT a big plus for me.

    2) Camera function could be useful, but actual use as a telephone is first and foremost.

    3) Battery life should be considered a factor.

    4) It DOESN'T have to be as small as a postage stamp. Rough & tumble/reliable is more important than sleek good looks.

    Any thoughts?

The Samsung M110 is a really robust phone, they drove a tractor over one on 'The Gadget Show' it still worked.

Well.. that certainly is a plus in my book. Of course, I wear a Timex watch... so maybe that explains some things. I'll keep that model in mind.

    Thanks much!
