Advise on Ideal Lamborghini Collection

    What would be an ideal Lamborghini collection? I do realize that an ideal Ferrari Collection would be having the four horses (Enzo, 288GTO, F50, F40) as well as some special or limited edition Ferraris. I know Mr. Sackey will say the Miura SV, but besides the Miura SV, if I were to have a Lamborghini museum some day, what type of vehicles would you recommend? I do have more vehicles than I can actually use and am all over the map, having many duplicates in my so called collection. Someone recommended that I pick up a Jarama, but to me, that car looks like a station wagon and I just don`t see myself driving it. I hope I am not offending Jarama owners. I guess I would not mind owning one just for the sake of historical significance but I would rather drive my pickup truck from the way the car looks on pictures. I also have seen the Jalpa on photos and never in person, and it just does not interest me too much. Thank you all in advance for your recommendations. Joe Sackey will definitely come up with the Miura SV and actually that car is growing more and more as time goes on.

    You'd definitely need 1 of the rarer Lamborghini Diablos in it, such as the SE30 or GT perhaps.

    What year did they produce and how many were made? Would you happen to have pictures and do you know the market on them?

    I recommend these in addition to the Lamborghinis you currently have: Countach LP400, 1989 Countach 25 Anv., LM002A,1994 Diablo SE, 1999 Diablo SV, Diablo GT, 2001 Diablo 6.0 SE (Gold), Gallardo SL, and a Reventon.

    Diablo GT is the meanest street Diablo there is . Only 80 built. Not officialy imported to the US but i believe 2 or 3 are stateside..Built in 2000 i think ( orange pic )

    Diablo SE , 1993-1995, around 150 built. Some were built to Jota specs ( more hp, 595 hp vs 525 ) . The SE is lighter than the Diablo . ( Red car ) .


    My ideal lambo collection would be :

    400 GT
    Miura ( if possible an SVJ :) )
    Countach LP 400 S
    Countach 5000
    Diablo SV
    Diablo SE Jota
    Diablo GT
    Diablo 6.0
    Murcielago LP 640 Roadster

    - 350 GT (or 400GT)
    - islero
    - miura P400
    - miura SV
    - countach LP400
    - countach LP400S (better if a serie 1 :) )
    - Silhouette
    - countach QV carbed
    - LM002
    - diablo SE30 (better if a JOTA)
    - diablo GT

    i bet Joe would agree on most :)

    since you already have all the new cars of Audi era (6.0-murcie-LP640...)

    p.s. my fother had a jalpa years ago: they are nice cars, not so fast really but they make a GREAT sound, have targa top and are fun to drive but IMO the silhouette is the V8 lambo for collector: just look at it !

    The list you just gave makes sense. I gather the LM002 is a pickup truck, correct? I think I overbought the Diablo series. I currently have a 97.5 Diablo Roadster, 99 Diablo Roadster, 2001 Diablo 6.0 and 1998 Diablo SV. What is so special about the diablo GT and the diablo SE30 and what makes the JOTA edition so special? What are the market prices on the collection you listed, Emilio? In U.S. Dollars if you do not mind answering. The Silhouette is not for me nor are the Jalopas, and the Jaramas. I will definitely take a pass on those.

    Other than their rarity, they are hardcore Diablos with weight saving materials and more HP than the regular Diblos. The SE weight 300 kgs less than the standard Diablo of the days .

    I would say a SE is probably worth $300k seing how 6.0 are $200k. A GT is worth 230-250k Euros..So thats $350-$375k in Europe. You would have to add the cost to bring it here and federalize it ?

    So, estatically it looks pretty much the same and the reason for the large spread in the price is due to the weight? Is that what you mean?

    What are Countachs, Diablo Roadsters, Diablo 6.0, Diablo SVs, Diablo GT, Diablo SE30, Diablo GTR, Diablo VT, and regular 91-93 Diablos worth in U.S. Dollars? I am getting a whole wide range from $65K to $550K for a 94 Diablo Jota.

    Really appreciate the pictures. Do you have more? How many Diablo brands are out there? I thought I had them all but boy was I wrong. They keep on popping out of nowwhere and there seems to be no end.

    No love for a nice Espada?? Hard to find a truly excellent example out there, but they can be really stunning!

    yes, LM is the truck (V12 truck) a "one of a kind" machine for sure :)

    in few words:
    diablo GT and SE30 are lighter (expecially the SE30) and RAWER than all other road legal variants
    they are RWD, have a very "racy" interior
    they also were built in little numbers (150 cars the SE30, 80 for the GT)

    about the overbought: i personally think 1 99 roadster would be enough for me and i will look for an SE30 (my 0.02)

    few SE30 came with a power kit AKA JOTA kit (put in by factory or by customers) that was designed to race the car in period GT championship (and never did in the end)
    the kits were put on road cars and gave the jota cars some claimed 595 hp and makes them even more fast and agressive
    jota cars have a different engine cover with 2 air intakes that go directly on the air boxes
    less than 30 kits made make the jota a VERY desirable and sought after machine
    in 2007 i helped Joe and one friend of his, who owns a great looking purple SE30, finding a "new in the box" jota kit

    values: really depends on originality, conditions, history of cars, ecc....
    Joe sure knows the miura market better than me, as other guys like Roy know the diablo variants values

    for very good (body-interior-drivetrain), original, unmolested countach cars i would put these numbers:

    LP400: over 400k$
    LP400 S S1: over 200k$
    QV DD (the carbed cars): over 150k$

    in Europe all these 3 variants are more expensive now

    Thanks Chris for the photos and your input. Keep me in mind if you have a lead on the Diablo GTR/GT. I have a friend that has a lead on a LP400S that is not fully painted yet that we agreed on a tentative price and I gave him my word that I will give preference on that car before I am on the hunt for another one. Others have advised to dump the SV. Why is it that you recommend the 2003 Murci? Arent there tons of them out there and I do have one that is under restoration because the car I bought had a salvage title and the restoration was done by a comedian. I will never ever purchase a salvage title vehicle again no matter how good of a deal it is. It has been a nightmare and a bottomless money pit. I have purchased two salvage vehicles, Gallardo and Murci, and I have more money invested in these two jalopies. With the depreciation these cars have taken and the costs of original parts, I do not wish this task on anybody, even people I do not like. I am basically buried in these two cars. The Gallardo supposedly was 100% done with the bells and whistles including a $20K audio/video/stereo/radar/laser detection systems, and I drove no more than 165 miles and got stuck in the parking lot. Needed to get the thing towed to Lamborghini Chicago from Southern Wisconsin. Needed a new clutch plus many more parts as well as an air conditioning compressor, which I did not mind but the bad news was that the technicians found additional structural damage on the car. Car needs to be restripped and redone for safety issues. Several more thousands worth of work plus over six weeks. Have no other choice but to do it. Luckily, I could afford to pay for the mistake I made, but it could devastate a person who has saved their life savings to purchase their dream car. As for the Murcielago, it just keeps on getting worse and worse. Now it needs a new frame which I ordered. Even if I got top dollar for these two cars, I would not sell them on the condition they are in because I am afraid of the liability that it might hurt someone. Once the cars are totally done, I will have it inspected by two or more Lamborghini specialists.
