    Hi guys,
has anybody ever seen the 355 GTB TDF blue at Expo Motorcars in Houston first hand ? Anybody know any history of this one ? I got a reply on ebay asking for service records and condition on the GTB and got a response that there are no service records available. Sure seems weird on a '99 F1 GTB. It also looks like they had the car forever. I think I remember seeing the car at Greenway Mercedes in Houston before too.
Anybody have any experience with Expo ? I will be in the market for a 355 F1 soon, but don't want to waste my time on a dealer with bad history or bad cars. Don't want to buy a car either that needs 10K of work (besides a regular service) and 8 weeks in the shop.

Here is the 355 GTB from Expo I am talking about (it's on ebay too):

Great color combo but looks like it got trashed in the big Houston floods a while back. There's another thread about it from a few weeks/months ago I believe.

that car has been for sale there for several months now... listed on ebay at least 5-6 times. I believe there are also a few guys here that have inquired and looked at the car, hopefully they will chime in.

My brother purchased his M5 from them, over all an OK experience, car had prior damage on it and they didnt know anything about it (HA!). I wouldnt buy anything from them again, and NEVER would I buy a 355 with no records, for any price.

I bought a sl500 from them. Car was presented as perfect. It wasn't. Curbed wheels and lots of stuff wrong i asked about. It also took about 6 weeks to get the title. I'd run away from a 355 if they were selling it.

Thanks guys. You just confirmed what I thought. Will stay away from them and car of course. No service records = Lots of trouble

Is there a list of dealers selling F cars with bad reputation on here ? Would be neat to be able to take a look before considering buying from them.

Let's say the car gets an somewhat OK PPI and doesn't have any flood damage (unless somebody knows for sure that it did), what would be a realistic bid on it knowing the fact that no service records are available, and that a major service needs to be performed. Let's say it might even need a new clutch.

What am I talking about, I should stay away from that car and dealer.

I called and seriously considered this car due to the beautiful color, but I must say RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dealer said that he could track down the owners and the service records from the Ferrari dealer (and did), but the car has NEVER had a major!!!

A realistic bid would be about $60k, because you will spend every bit of $15k on making it right. Even after all of that, you still would not have as nice a car as you could buy for the same $75k. Plus the lack of prior records would depreciate the car even further.

Don't rush it, look closely and buy the "right" car, not a "right now" car you will spend months and $$$$$ making it right.

FWIW, I passed (on this very car) and found an incredible example that I only had to pay $76k for. It has EVERYTHING an anal Ferrari buyer would ever want to have with absolutely NO stories.

How can any dealer detail the car for the pics and yet take a pic of an engine bay that is about as clean as my cats litter box. That is the sign of an abused car period.

thanks guys. also for the nice pics. definitely staying away from this one. I definitely don't want an abused or fixer upper. I'll keep looking and will eventually find the right one. There is a nice Silver Spider from MCI. Little on the high side, but seems to b e in good conditions. I'll keep searching and looking.
