    Lowly?! Doesn't that thing have a V-12?! :D

Near my house someone parked an '01 E38 with those M-sport wheels that they only offered the last two years... only 75k miles, but I thought the asking was a bit high at $16,500. I called anyway though, if only for a test drive - that car is so damn sexy.

LOL yes it is the 750 w/ the V12. Yeah 16.5 is a bit high for an E38, but yes the E38 is my favorite Bimmer, especially with the M-Parallel wheels!!

Not Denver, but Main Street Aspen across for the Jerome around 5:00 p.m. last night, hit the trifecta F40, F50 and Enzo!

I've always wondered how to tell a Speciale from a normal 348... I guess I'm finding out a bit too late! Sadly the only photo I took of the front of the car turned out poorly, so I erased it. However, here is another photo of that car, from last summer. I'm not sure if it shows enough of the front to be able to tell if its a Speciale or just a "regular" 348.

Not too many good cars out today with the mist, but I was able to see a green Aston-Martin DB7 V12 Vantage Volante on 2nd and Adams despite the weather... it looked great in the rain!

    * It does have the front lip. (many add this to non-SS 348s & a few SS cars are missing it)
    * The "CF Seats" were optional, and to me it looked like "standard" seats in black
    * If you check the inside it will have a SS badge

No rear badge - check out this photo for a rear shot.

By the way, speaking of 348s - is there any way you can tell apart 348TS and GTS (and TB and GTB) models aside from the painted skirts and badge? Because I find a lot have been de-badged, and most wear the painted skirts, which isn't in keeping with the true production numbers.

I think the car in question belongs to F-Chat member Teide.
    http://ferrarichat.com/forum/member.php?u=32062

His is a '94 348ch w/ no badges & black interior and he has posted a picture of his car with the rear light grates removed.

It is very difficult to pick them out as many have painted the bottoms of the cars, removed badges, changed/removed rear grills (including Teide), etc.

Below a few badges... Note how the TS & TB are writen below the 348, but on the CH and the GTS they are "in-line".

    GTS Badge is written "in-line":

It could indeed be his car, though this particular one carried vanity plates reading SHRTSQZ, in case that aids anyone. Were there really targa-topped 348 Challenges?

I sold the 94 TB challenge car to Antonio (aka teide) in 2001. I think he recently sold it. The "challenge" script was actually NOT on these cas as delivered but could be added afterwards. There were 13 factory challenge TS's built in '94 along with 32 TB's.

Thanks Dave. The car in the bottom picture I posted above should also look familiar :)

Definitely not a Ferrari and I'm not sure its very rare now, but I saw my first Lexus LS-F the other night on Highway 6 heading Eastbound just west of I-25. It was dark but as it passed I could tell it was not just any IS then I saw the quad stacked exhaust.

Two very interesting non-exotics today: first, a black International MXT, the craziest of International's three "huge pickups," on 2nd and St. Paul this afternooon... also, a red Plymouth Prowler on Broadway and Oxford in Englewood around 2:45pm.

By far the spot of the day, though, was a gray Ferrari Dino GTS parked in front of the JW Marriott on 1st and Clayton in Cherry Creek around 2:30. Here's a good shot of it with a 'regular' car to give some contrast. I showed up just as the vehicle left and was able to follow it down Speer for a few blocks. Here's another shot of that beautiful car. It's been nearly three years since the last time I saw a Dino on the road, so this was a great surprise.

Still glowing from the Dino spot, two more tonight: a red Caterham heading north on University at 1st Avenue around 7:30pm, and a great photo of a dark gray Aston-Martin V8 Vantage on 10th Mountain Division plates parked on the east side of Wash Park around 8pm.

Several good cars out tonight, including two Ferraris: a gray 360 Modena at North on 2nd and Clayton, and a red F430 on Larimer heading towards Larimer Square... check out this great action shot of the F430! This new camera is amazing! Non-Ferrari exotics included a dark green Aston-Martin V8 Vantage Roadster on New Jersey "vehicle manufacturer" plates in Larimer Square, and a black Rolls-Royce Phantom at the Ritz on local plate RITZ1. All spots between 7:15 and 7:45pm.

On a personal note, that gray Ferrari 360 Modena was my 1,000th unique exotic vehicle sighting. Granted it's not the 1,000th unique car, but being the 1,000th sighting is a pretty huge milestone. Thanks as always to everyone who praises my sightings on F-chat both publicly and privately; even though I haven't been here for too long (relative to some of you), the welcoming attitude of the members here on F-chat has increased my passion for exotic cars significantly. Without F-chat, 1,000 sightings would be a very unlikely proposition. Thanks guys... here's to 1,000 more! :)

As you probably have figured out, that is the Ritz's hotel car...I've seen that abomination so many times around town that I rarely even notice it anymore :)

Thanks! They'll keep coming as long as I'm in town!

Wow Derek, strong words! Just be glad you don't live in Atlanta - that is the twenty-seventh Phantom I've seen (29 if you count the Drophead), but just the second here in Colorado... so we're mostly spared of the land barge.

Where does one buy a Phantom here in Colorado? Stevinson Imports? Clearly not FoD... :D

    Doug,
What camera settings do you use when taking the action shots?

Oh trust me, I'd be more than happy to sell you one...just don't ask me if I like them or not :) The only neat thing about them are their size, it's hilarious how out of scale they are with everything else on the road (and even some SUVs)

Just the default settings! Trust me, it's the camera that's the pro, and not the photographer. I haven't even cracked open the owners' manual.

Check out this photo and compare the Phantom to that red Toyota 4Runner two cars over... the 4Runner is a two-wheel drive model so its ride height is lowered and the Phantom almost exactly the same height!

I kind of like the Phantom, though I'm continually shamed to admit it. I swear it has more road presence than the Maserati MC12! Wouldn't ever buy one though - I can think of a lot of better ways to spend $350,000.
