Hi All, Anyone had a DB7? I would like to know good/bad. I'm thinking of using one a a daily driver (I have a pretty short all surface street commute). Let me know?
I seriously looked at them since January. Love the lines and drives well. Would consider an alternate to a P-car. Prices on 06-07 are falling fast. Were $115k 4 months ago and are all over fleabay now in the $80s. I bought a Bentley CGT instead, mainly for size. For what it is worth, I think the DB7s are well worth the price now. I love the black/tan ones.
Yes the prices are falling hard so you get a lot of car for the $$. I like the bentley too but it's too big a car for a daily driver. Anyone living with a DB7 feel free to pitch in with your opinion?
I have a friend who has had both the supercharged V6 and the V12 Volante. In my opinion they are one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Electrics are going to be problematic as you expect. I know the V12 one that he had broke down with in his first week of ownership. He has had things like break failure, differential was replaced several times, problems with the accelerator. He has had a lot of truly dangerous problems and ended up crashing the Volante...I would not recommend one but if you do buy one try to get one with complete maintenance records.
Thanks blazinBWF that's good to know. I've been using Jag's as daily drivers for the last 20 years so I'm no stranger to electrical issues. Weather you like it or not these things are why the cars seem to have their own personality. If exotics/semi exotics all ran like Honda then the world would be very different. I'd rather have a temperamental great looking car than an ugly box with wheels any day.
I understand what you mean, the flaws definitley add to the character of the car, I loved my Alfa Romeo GVT6 and it was made without glue so everything fell off.
