Friggen Hybrid drivers are becoming an absolute nussance on the American Highways. Last month, while driving my Yukon down I-295, I was visually accosted with a "Bird" by a Prius driver. I assumed I did something wrong, like unintentionally cutting him off. I felt bad and somewhat ashamed of my driving skill. Today, it happened again only this time I know I did nothing wrong. I was cruising the slow lane at exactly 65 MPH (according to cruise control). I did not change lanes, there was no entrance ramp, I did not wander in my lane and this jerk jams himself against me and flips me off. I was, to say the least, confused until CAPTAIN ***** sped up to catch the Chevy Sierra driver in front of me and did the same thing. A hundred bucks says he's a democrat.

Next time, I'm gonna go NASCAR and put the little bastage into the wall. I wonder if the folding action on that stupid little thing will scratch the paint on my Yuke. What environment does he think he's saving with that heavy metal battery.

My apologies to those of you who own a Hybrid for the right reasons.

My gut reaction would of been to chase them and give them a bit of a scare as revenge, but driving a car that ugly is punishment enough.

Please do not squash the little piece of **** ,since any accident involving these crap tincans requires HAZMAT to clean up the scene and would cause unnecessary traffic delays.....

That is why mercy killing (euthanasia) is legal in some countries ……………… :) We in America should use it more often.

I think we all ought to have bumper stickers saying something to the effect "We're killing your kids. So are you (and Faster) ....... idoits"

I'd put that on my Ferrari.

AND I AM TIRED OF THE EUROPEANS FOLLOWING ALL OF AMERICA'S BAD HABITS!!! Grow up Europe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LA and NYC don't mean ****!!!!!!!!!

That's pretty funny......not for you being shown the bird......ok......that's pretty funny too. But the South Park episode about Prius people being pompous a-holes and the resulting state wide "Smug Alert"

If you haven't seen the episode here is a wiki article about it:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smug_Alert!

It was hysterical.........sort of like the picture of a rampaging Prius owner flying the bone at Hummers and Tahoe's

    1. Get the license plate number
    2. Dial 911 and report a driver that is possibly impaired, noting his aggressive driving and profound use of hand gestures.
    3. Reiterate REPEATEDLY that you have done NOTHING WRONG to elicit this behavior from the driver.

Recommendation--Do NOT dial 911, it is for emergency use only, this is not an emergency---call your local PD or Sheriff directly and have them transfer the call to the communication/dispatch center so they can stay on the phone with you while they guide in the officer right to you......

Sideswipe him, then when you are exchanging insurance info casually comment on how environmentally unfriendly body shops are. His precious Prius will rust to pieces in six months, and you won't have an insurance claim against you!

I've noticed recently a lot of drivers who either intentionally or otherwise seem to be making Shell Mileage Runs on the freeway. All it takes is a couple to really gum up the freeway. It's not my freeway, but these bozos have no right to block traffic for everyone else either!!! :(

CCCCCan't we all just get along? People are just too wound up these days. Why is there this animosity between the gas guzzlers and hybrid peeps? Sounds like gas prices have people on the edge . Ignore any ****** on the road, it just isn't worth it.

I love my cars...he loves his car. I'd love to leave it at that. When I say "he jams himself up against me" I mean he came into my lane to get my attention. Nearly caused an accident right then. Scared the poop outta me. He was smiling and flipping. When he did it again to the Sierra, thats when I got pissed. This guy wants to die...I think we shouild respect his wishes

The Saint stepped out for a phone call...It's all Bastage now

I agree with Spasso; call the cops or just let it be. It's unhealthy to let a complete stranger get you that wound up.

Whenever I call the cops and it's not an emergency, I just dial 911 and when they pick up, I ask for non-emergency; I'm transferred to that town's/city's/county's precinct without any problem.

    LOL...!!!

I wholeheartedly agree here. Life's too short to get bent out of shape over the idiocy of others.

Other than teasing Silver Subscribed members about upgrading to Rossa, I've never attempted persuading anyone to subscribe, but, this is different.

Lauren Wallace from the Geico commercials immediately came to mind, with...

    Dude.

Here in Delaware County, PA, there is no other way to contact the police. We have to dial 911 to get a cop to issue a parking tickek. No other way to get a hold of them.

Amusingly enough, that was the picture in my mind when I wrote it. "Family or not, he's going in to the wall"

Those who think I'm stressed need a better sense of humor

Not true...911 is actually the slow way, you have to go through an operator. When you need fast service you should always call 1-800-Don-nuts.

It's difficult to articulate inflection through the written word - so a smiley (or two) might've helped. But your post - with a few well-placed caps on key words - didn't seem very funny. And more than one person thought you were stressed out about it, so we're not the ones lacking a sense of humor. :)

the hybrid thing does seem to create this sort of weird personification of the car as if it's a badge or identifier. It often elicits that the driver is this green, liberal, anti-car person. And if you're not sensitive to their hybrid and drive a regular car, or god forbid, a performance sports car, they secretly believe you're Satan.

Hybrids have been around since the dawn of the modern locomotive, as these are all hybrids and have been for decades. A diesel engine(s) power electric generators that then apply torque to the driveline and move the vehicle down the tracks. The pulling torque is unfathomable by these electric engines (powered by petrol-based fuel).

It's only a matter of time before we see hybrid and fully electric sports cars that will equate or even rival petrol cars, so the notion of hating fast cars (and averting petrolium use by driving a hybrid) is unfounded and false.

You could remind hybrid Prius drivers that they're just as guilty for killing innocent Muslims, but only half as many.

I drive one, but don't act like that. Best thing to do is to get their license number, get a friend to get their address, and have a little fun with them. I filled someone's tires with water once, took them about a month to figure out what was wrong with their car (a long time ago, when I was in high school, it was a school vice principal, who was an *****).

I drove some sort of Mercury SUV hybrid for a few days this month. On the outside, it's fairly quiet (perhaps too quiet for street-crossing pedestrians).

On the inside, it's louder (road noise) than my old Corvette without mufflers.

So it's no wonder that your road mite was using hand gestures...he's deaf by now!
