    WOW this thing is INCREDIBLE..........

It is what the GT should be in the first place!

Wait until you guys see and HEAR this thing.....It is simply not the same car.

One down side is that it is Maserati's show car and no one is able to drive yet...........Can't wait!!!!!!!

Did they say when you can order one and when the first ones would be arriving at US dealerships?

That's the nicest combination in colors for this car I've seen yet.

The sound would surprise you......the most aggressive sounding Maserati since the MC-12. I absolutely loved it!

The GT S does sound nice and agressive...here is a photo I snapped of two prototypes being driven thru Maranello. I saw these exact cars earlier in the day when I visited the Maserati factory back in February.

What's the big difference between the normal one (more hp, stiffer suspension), so just the usual stuff?

And should I give my hopes up for a maserati 2 seater, like a new gransport?!

The Gransport was actually a 4-seater. And yes, you can forget a Maserati 2-seater in the near future. And as for you first question, the difference between the Granturismo and the "S" is huge. The first is a fast cruiser, the second is a real GT with thrust and handling to match its looks. I am waiting for my "S" to come this summer... :)

Pretty sure Ferrari is introducing their dual clutch gearbox on the new California. Whether or not that was a Maserati at some point is for another discussion. Otherwise, while I have no doubt that Ferrari waits to share new technology with Maserati, over the past 10 years they've benefited greatly from the technology they have received.

Also I'm somewhat surprised they didn't just keep the automatic in the non S version.

No doubt the dual clutch is the future of Ferrari and Maserati, but in this case, I'm just surprised that MC-Shift (599 borrowed) doesn't apparantly get the 100 millisecond 599 shift time until your at 5500 rpm or higher in the sport mode. I'm curious if the 599 works the same way, my gut tells me when the 599 is in race mode, you get 100 millisecond shifts regardless of what rpms you're at. I'm making assumptions here that 599 gearbox works that way, but why would Maserati put a 5500 rpm threshold for faster shifts? I think thats the reviewers point in that article, below 5500 rpms the box changes too slow. Some of us have argued over the years that Ferrari at times holds Maserati back and this seemed, to me at least, to be another one of those cases. Curious if any 599 experts/owners can chime in if their gearbox shift times are dependent on where in the rev band you're at. I know the GranTurismo S wasn't meant to be an all out brute like the 599 is, but still its odd why Maserati programmed it this way.

I don't know the variations among the gearboxes, but it sounds like a software upgrade could change it. Aside from the cars having different styles, they do have different engines too.
