Are these exhaust systems so loud that on long drives they may give you a headache?

I am considering the Tubi but also will be taking the car on long trips

    All comments are appreciated

the thing that would get you is the drone, at highway speeds you would never get the drone, only when in a neighborhood do I regret a tubi. other then that I would say its fine for long trips

I agree. Only at low speeds close to home do I become a bit self-conscious about the noise. On the open road, it's wonderful. And with the roof down at 70mph+ you can still carry on a conversation with a passenger without shouting. I'm very happy I made Tubi a "must-have" in my 360 search.

    Chris,

Is your car a coupe or a spyder? This matters a lot... especially if you're considering one of the more aggressive systems.

As others have said, the Tubi is a more conservative system than the Capristo and each come in various "levels" of loudness.

I had a Stage II Tubi on my 360 (Stage I: near stock except under acceleration, Stage III/NGT: Quite loud all the time). The Stage II was aggressive at idle and really loud under acceleration but perfect at highway speeds.

If your car is currently running the stock exhaust, this will be one of the best investments you can make. Your car will instantly sound way more exotic.

Resonance & drone are the two things many people complain about in aftermarket exhausts. Find a friend with the same setup, and go for a drive at differing speeds to see what you like.

Actually Capristo makes a special system for spyder cars, it is a cross between a level 1 & level 2, still with the performance gains that Capristo is known to have, as many of you know all their systems are Dyno developed, not just hype like many other companies.

As Daniel says, resonance & drone are issues. Capristo does not have those issues. We sell 9 major brands of exhaust systems for Ferrari's, some sound better than others, some are just copies of others.

Capristo also makes valved systems that are very nice at cruise & at low RPM but aggressive at WOT. That has been a popular set up with many Ferrari owners, the valve systems that we sell come with a key fob remote control that allows you to open or close the valves while driving or you can just leave them in automatic mode so they open up as the throttle goes down farther which allows the car to be quite while cruising down the highway on long trips, but aggressive if you put your foot to the floor.

The correct Capristo system would be quieter than the Tubi set up & you would get more HP & low end torque according to the test results that we have had.

I have the Tubi NGT on my 360 Spider it is loud in town when it bounces off the surrounding buildings but is fine on the open road the standard Tubi which I had on my 355 and TR was just fine I like the more aggressive sound of the NGT in all cases I was also using Hyperflow Cats.
