Great shots Boxer ! Looks like today was a very good day :) Love the early morning shots with the condensation...you can just feel the chill in the air and realize that things are about to get warm in a hurry !

3500 is unbeleivable. Mike Sheehan had some for sale some months ago and i offered 4900 and lost. I wish I had made an offer :)

Had the holiday weekend off so I decided to address an issue on the F40. The fuel pump housing sits flush to the surface of each fuel tank and has an electrical pigtail connector going into it to supply current. Since it sits on a flat surface, it is prone to collecting water and corroding the connection. This causes intermittent functioning of the fuel pump resulting in a stumbling idle and power loss. If you recall, this surfaced during an inopportune moment during the Coppa Bella Macchina evaluation at the FCA Concours, and only the timely intervention of the crew from Continental Ferrari saved the day !

Anyway, I decided to take it apart and clean up the connections...here are some pics.

So, two new connectors on the way, and that should clear it up. Fortunately, this problem has not surfaced since Watkins Glen, but as you can see it is only a matter of time. No problems in Bahrain though :)

If anyone is getting a major done on their F40, be sure to bring this to the attention of your service tech. I know of 2 other F40's that have had similar connector discoveries since the owners checked :)

Some interesting pics of the brake ducting on the F40.

External NACA ducted air is fed through ducting on the rear of the wheelwell. This in turn gets fed through a large caliber rubber hose directly into the brake hub and cools the brake disc.

Very impressive and brave. I would not trust myself to try to fix anything beyond a blown fuse on the F40.

curious.... is there anything specifically that denotes this from a US car??? Seems like F40's could "easily" start making their way overseas with the dropping dollar.

Isaac, the emergency side marker on the fenders is a small circular bulb instead of the strip found on US cars.
