Translation for the non-spanish-speakers: Cheers, Nicolas Rubio PS: I don't think the translation is perfect but it is quite good! Especially considering I did it in five minutes!
The story has also been picked up on Autoblog, for those of you looking for an English translation. Let me be the first to point out that just a week ago, this thread was posted mentioning that a black 599 with shields had been stolen in Monaco (suspect #1)... and there's always F-chat's own Mark Collins who lives in the UK and has a black 599 with shields (suspect #2 )...
----- Imagine peacefully driving on a highway and all of a sudden a Bugatti Veyron and a Ferrari 599GTB leave you in the dust. Those that saw the spectacle in the VIP zone (the other drivers) say that the cars were going from lane to lane in a scary manner until the lucky driver of the Veyron got bored and slowed down, and, of course, the police's 5 series BMW gave chase. The driver of the Veyron can thank God, or Buddah, or whomever because the radar caught him at 156KPH, which made him lose 3 points on his license and a fine of 60 pounds, since if they had caught him at 210 his license would have been suspended and his car confiscated (I would have liked to be the policeman that takes it to the impound yard). Nothing is known about the Ferrari as it escaped and as you can see in one of the pictures, it didn't have a license plate. -----
I would never run from cops, but seriously, if I was driving a Veyron, I MIGHT consider it. I'd dare them to catch me Of course, if they caught my plate, I'd be screwed.
you would think it be the other way around, the Veyron getting away and the 599GTB getting pulled over...
He may have stolen it indeed! Remember the one that was recently stolen... black, shields... The guy was REALLY following the phrase: "Drive it like you stole it!" Cheers, Nicolas Rubio
How many black 599's are there in the UK anyway? Shouldn't be hard to identify whose it is, unless it is stolen.
I heard that at top speed, the Veyron runs out of gas in 12 minutes and the tires are shot in 15. Could be short chase.
I think its 50 minutes for the tires, in those 12 minutes you would have traveled over 50 miles and you could probably coast for a couple more.
According to Top Gear you are right. It gets mentioned in this video where they top it out. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x157l2_bugatti-veyron-at-top-speed
