    Best bike ever made.

It is miles ahead of anything Japanese. Its a race engine and total carbon fibre body.......

It should be called the "Ferrari Enzo" of motorcycles.

It's a great bike for sure, but here is another way of looking at it.

It's miles ahead of any other road bikes because the Japanese manufacturers have decided not to release $100,000+ MotoGP replicas of their own.

To keep things in perspective, remember this is a replica of the 990cc Ducati GP6 from 2006. Ducati didn't win a single championship during the 990cc era. 2002, 2003, and 2006 were won by the Honda RC211V, and 2004 and 2005 by the Yamaha M1...

I think the biggest problem Ducati were having toward the end of the 990cc era was that they couldn't get the bike to put the power down smoothly, e.g. you'd see the riders sliding the rear alot on the exit of the corner, while the rider behind got better drive, allowing him to get close enough to slipstream and overtake at the next corner, inspite of the Ducati's power advantage.

Anyway, I'd be interested to see how close a race prepped version of the Desmo RR could get to World Superbike lap times, or even MotoGP lap times.

In one of his videos he said he has several thousand miles on his SLR.

Supposedly folks that work with him say in any given day it's not uncommon for him to drive to and from the studio in five or six different cars.

But hell when you have three airplane hangars full of sweet cars then yeah you don't get to drive everything all the time :)
