There were three 612's at FOA this weekend. All for this same recall since they all had the transmission on the floor.

My friend had so much misery with his 06 612 HGTC transmission that he traded the car back. Does anyone know if the recall solves the problems?

So far (one week and one track day later) so good, but I'm going to wait for a while before I proclaim the transmission to be totally cured. Two on-the-road failures plus a recall so far...

All failures were transmission related, and the symptoms in each case matched the description in the recall notice (car stuck in neutral, impossible to get a gear). On the second repair they had to replace the entire actuator mechanism and the guide bushings -- the whole thing was seized in place. Pretty ugly...

So, although (unfortunately) I can't say with certainty that all of my problems are traceable to the faulty sensor, it wouldn't be inconsistent with the evidence.

Hope that helps at least a bit.
