It's listed here on something other than the regular PBS station (digital) for 11PM this evening (EST) which I don't think I get. However I do see it listed again on the regular at 1:30PM Tuesday 6/10. All info from the PBS site (http://www.pbs.org/).

    Thanx for posting this.

So I just watched his last interview on Charlie's site and as he wrapped up Luca's interview he says Will Ferrell is next promoting the movie Elf and I am thinking of what conversation between these two in the greenroom was like.

Elf is a year or two old, isn't it? Does this mean the LdeM interview is a repeat?

He mentions the introduction of the 612 happening the next day and the 360 CS was apparently the car of the moment for them.....so this is dated, but interesting nonetheless. This man is quite the Italian blue blood....his official title is "Marquis Luca Cordero di Montezemolo," he is from the Italian aristocracy. He is commonly known as a 'count' as the word Marquis is of French derivation but nonetheless the official reference.

He's been in the Ferrari/Fiat company since 1973, was hand-picked by Enzo to manage the F1 team in 1975. It was in 1991 that he became Fiat CEO. Here's a funny story. He bought a 348 with his own money and here is the quote: "I was utterly disappointed. This was the worst product Ferrari had developed for some time." Quite interesting as his tastes have, without question, been reflected in the product offerings. The return of front engined, two-seater, 12 cylinder cars like the 550, was largely his influence. As he has repeatedly said, he doesn't like cars that are 'too much of a show off.' He was also responsible for transforming Ferrari's manufacturing facility into a modern high tech arrangement. That's interesting when you think about Ferrari's characteristic automotive audacity and race-bred influence.

I saw him on a telethon program about a few months ago and they had him singing a song. He wasn't too bad, if he'd stop playing with those red cars he could've gone far in his singing career. :D

I'm watching it now, it's newer than '03. (A photo date, perhaps?)

    It's post last year's championship.

In NY Charlie Rose is re-broadcast the next afternoon.

Regarding the 599: "A huge, huge, car."

He's talking about the California 2+ now.

To be priced at the same level of the 430: "160,000".

Huh? Just where is 'Honest Luca's Cut-Rate Ferrari Emporium'?

Definitely newer. He is talking about the 2008 Scuderia, the 599, the CALIFORNIA....this is very recent.

Well, Charlie sure pronounces Luca's last name strangely, mucho different than the guys on Speed Channel.

Wonder how it's -really- pronounced?? I always thought 'Monteh-Zem-eh-Low', or thereabouts.

I watched and enjoyed it but nothing ground breaking said, the $160,000 dollar comment on the California I certainly wouldn't take to heart although that would be well received around here.

Yes, that sounded odd to me as well. I wonder if in fact by saying 160k he was thinking in Euro's?

Also, I am hoping someine else caught this. In regards to Charlie's question about how "the "Green" movement might effect a company like Ferrari, if at all?" Luca's response was interesting. He said something along the lines "I think in the next five years we have a big surprise". Sounds like new tech in road cars to me. A possible reference to transferring the KERS system to the road cars? Turbos, like many on this thread are suspecting the next supercar to have?
